So apparently this place has new ownership as of a few months ago and it shows. For a slow night the staff seemed like they couldn’t manage the few tables they had. Additionally the quality and quantity of food you receive has definitely gone down. $80 for 4 king crab legs seems wildly overpriced. I used to be a big fan of the establishment. Might be our last time going.

5 Stars – Still Amazing!
Pub 199 is still the go-to spot for amazing food and a laid-back, welcoming vibe. We sat at the bar and had clams, Toni wings, a bacon cheeseburger, fried shrimp, and steak—everything was delicious!
Service was top-notch—Toni took care of us and is now one of the new owners. She’s been there for years and really knows how to make you feel like family.
Same great menu with a few nice updates (now they take credit cards and offer coffee & dessert). Love that it’s still locally owned and just as popular as ever. A must-visit if you’re in the area!

Have eaten here several times and food never disappoints. The prices are reasonable and service is always so welcoming and friendly. The food always comes out fresh and hot. Overall a great atmosphere for families to gather over a great meal. Will return again and again!
Vegetarian options: They offer eggplant Parm and other choices.
Kid-friendliness: My 10 year old niece and nephew loved the food and the atmosphere. They had bacon cheeseburger, chicken fingers and fries and they ate good!

Clams where mushy like they where left in a warm pot to long. Burger was OK. Never seen a restaurant use single wrapped cheese before. Service was pleasant and helpful.
Steak, lobster, snow crab legs, clams, all done well and for super cheap. No this isn't a fine dining establishment with mich star chefs in the kitchen, but it's a great place to get a good bang for your buck, can't think of any other spot I can get >12oz steak and lobster for $40. Dishes are prepared very simply (you can tell from pics). Atmosphere is cool, taxidermy taking up all the walls. Wouldn't be a vegan's favorite restaurant.

About twice a year, I make a 40-minute drive to Pub199 for their steamed clams and king crab. While it’s not the best I’ve ever had, it’s decent for the price. However, with each visit, I’ve noticed a decline in quality. On my most recent trip, the king crab was nearly inedible because it was so salty. I might give them one last chance.

Foods decent. Service is great. Atmosphere is great. The but is that i(and probably others) wish that the option to pay with credit card was available. I get it that the credit transaction fee is a factor however, considering how long pub 199 has been around before and after the fire, you could afford to pay it but okay. I mean, if you took the money you paid towards putting the outdoor patio installed and the animal heads, you could easily afford the credit card fee when you think about it.
