❌THEFT❌THEFT❌NOT TO BE TRUSTED❌. In June 2024 My son lost his wallet. In his wallet was a credit card his drivers license and $260 in cash . ❌After he checked out they found his wallet in the laundry room. Now the only people that have access to the laundry room are the employees . (It’s locked)❌His license was in it. His credit card was in it but the $260 cash that he was going to give to his sister on her wedding day that was that weekend was gone. ❌The hotel is owned by a company called Opal hotel group I contacted and spoke with a man named TREVOR to try to resolve this issue and he was no help whatsoever AND RUDE. They did not give me my money back, even though the only people that had access to the laundry room where in which they found the wallet was the staff. ❌THIEVES❌. I have been a Marriott member for over 20 years and I’ve never had a problem like this before they handled this very unprofessionally and I would highly recommend not and I repeat not doing business with the hotel or Opal Hotels Group❌❌❌❌❌❌🤣🤣

The hotel looked very nice and modern with a great entryway. The rooms were well maintained and clean especially the beds, so comfortable. The staff was excellent especially Steve at the bar who helped us have a great evening after the wedding!
Located in an area that doesn’t offer a lot to do or close to anything. Rooms are OK, but no pool, a gym with very little equipment, a restaurant that is only open ”on and off”. One day there was a good breakfast buffet, the next day you could only order ”coffee house” style dishes from the bar (in a hotel restaurant!?). No licensed rearaurants in walking distance, so a car is a must. There are a lot better hotels not far away!
We stayed one night for a wedding. The hotel is easy to find off of the Interstate and there is ample parking. There is a large lobby/bar/bistro area which is nicely appointed. Our room was a good size, as was the bathroom. The place was very clean, both the common area and our room AND the hallways. There was also a nice buffet breakfast in the bistro in the morning. We had a very comfortable stay - the staff was very accommodating and helpful
My husband and I are so happy we chose Courtyard by Marriott Rockaway- Mt. Arlington Hotel for our wedding block! Our wedding venue shared with us a list of hotels in the area and Marriott was our first choice! Perfect distance from our wedding venue and when we visited the hotel, we were very impressed with the cleanliness, updated structure, amenities, customer service, and bedroom layout. Check in and check out process was seamless. The front desk receptionists were very knowledgeable, kind, and welcoming. Breakfast is okay. But most importantly our communication with Julia and the sales team was enjoyable and not stressful. They were able to manage our large hotel block requests, quickly adapt to any changes we asked for, and every single one of our guests enjoyed their stay (including us). Our family members, friends and guests loved the size of the hotel, friendly environment, and appreciated the organization of the hotel directing our guests to use our transportation services to and from our venue. Lastly, our favorite feature was the hotel offering an additional cost of a DJ for our wedding after party in the lobby of the hotel. The DJ played great music, the bar was open, and the lobby had plenty of room for our guests to sit and stand comfortably. Thank you for a great stay, Courtyard by Marriott Rockaway- Mt. Arlington! We highly recommend all personal, business, or big event stays here!
My room felt brand new. It was clean and my view with the fall leaves was beautiful. I was at the Hotel on business.. I felt like it was very well taken care of. I was comfortable. The food was excellent and even the Hotel lobby felt warm and welcoming.
Stayed here for a wedding I was attending and the staff could not have been nicer or more helpful. They helped me check in early since the wedding was earlier in the day. The room was ready and immaculate. The front desk employee helped me figure out all the logistics for the wedding including when and where the shuttle would pick guests up. After the wedding, they hosted a great after-party in the lobby of the hotel and even opened the bar for us. It is in a very convenient location especially when you consider how many wedding venues are out that way and how few hotels. Would highly recommend!
If you are thinking about staying here for your wedding block, I’d strongly advise you DO NOT order food at the after party!! We arrived back from our wedding only to find half the food spread gone and a room full of other wedding parties enjoying our food. When we brought it to the bar managers attention he snapped at the bride and said he could not be bothered with that right now. This staff has zero control over their facility and events. Do not order food unless you feel like paying to feed the generic public! Disgraceful! Even worse, after the fact it was nearly impossible to get a call / email returned from the managers or even Marriott Corporate. GM and Head of Sales offered little to no solution for this botched event and were hardly even sympathetic. Once again if you do use this hotel, do not preorder food for after party! Might as well bring in your own or order pizzas despite their no outside food policy, considering they have no control of the room anyhow.
Recently returned after a break from visiting. Room’s refurbished, general atmosphere is very good. Steve behind the bar as friendly as ever. As are everybody I interacted with. Extremely please to be back in a comfortable surroundings. Good to see then the other side of covid

I recently stayed at the Marriott while in town for a wedding. The rooms were beautifully updated and the bar staying open late was a nice touch. Steve was so much fun and provided a great experience even though there was several weddings going on and an extremely loud DJ. Looking forward to returning in the future should an event bring us back to the area.
This hotel was renovated. I don't know when exactly. The rooms were spacious and lovely, but they lacked cleaning. The chair was dirty, and empty snack bags were found in the room, where I was not impressed. I hope they can fix that problem asap so I can come back here. Thank you!!
Clean rooms and facilities. Convenient location. The best part of the stay though was Carol at the front desk! This lady is a gem. Professional and friendly are only the beginning. This lady is one of a kind and knows her business and how to do a fantastic job.
Booked 6 months in advance for my son's wedding. Given an inadequate handicapped room. Bugs, water temp problems, noisy, dirty, no microwave, clock, or sofa. Bad lighting. Broken iron. Bad experience.
BEWARE WEDDING BLOCK BOTCH JOB In October of 2021 I reserved a regular room with a king-sized bed as part of a wedding block for my son’s wedding in April of 2022. I placed this reservation six months before his wedding. I had tried booking online but could not get the wedding block price to go through, so I called and booked via telephone. While talking to the reservation representative, I was informed that Marriott would be upgrading my room to a suite. I was so pleased and thought what a thoughtful gesture by Marriott for the parents of the groom. When I arrived the day before the wedding and checked in I was told no, you are not getting a suite, they are only given to the bride and groom. I explained that our bride and groom were staying in a private lake house, so maybe that is why the person I talked to had assigned us the suite. But the manager was adamant-only a bride and groom can stay in a suite. Okay then, not wanting to be difficult I said a regular room would be fine. I get my key and walk around the corner to the 1st floor hall of rooms and see that my room is a handicapped room. Since I would be wearing a long beaded gown, and the “closet” bar was only a couple feet off the ground (to accommodate someone in a wheelchair), I went back to the front desk and said, “There must be a mistake. I can’t stay in this room. Half of my expensive gown is laying on the floor.” The manager said she had no regular rooms left in the block. She could move me to the 5th floor, but then I would not be with the rest of my family who had also booked to be in the block with me. I booked six months ago and had gotten to the hotel at exactly check-in time. How had my room been given away? Her only explanation was that they had three weddings that weekend. I guess they only use the 1st floor hall for wedding blocks. She said she could move me the next day after the other wedding party checked out, but that would mean I’d have to move all my things when I was busy getting ready for my son’s three o’clock wedding, It simply wouldn’t work. I let her know, politely, that I was not happy, but tried to make the best of it. Back in my room, I looked for the microwave—there were none in the handicapped rooms. Also no alarm clock or sofa. I’d gone from a suite to the worst room on the floor. The next day my husband wanted to iron his shirt. All we had was a small tabletop ironing board. I called my sister who was three rooms away. They also put her in a handicapped room. We borrowed an ironing board from another family member—but none of our irons work. Housekeeping tried to help us but none of the irons they had worked either. Finally housekeeping had to go in a stranger’s room and take their working iron. My sister was also upset because she had no tub in her room and because the floor in the bathroom was not properly graded, water had gotten everywhere! Returning to my room, I got dressed in my gown, but I could not see how it looked because the full length mirror was situated in a dark area with no lighting. When I talked to my elderly parents down the hall, they told me they had found a glue trap full of bugs behind a curtain in their room and had to kill multiple beetle-type bugs in their bathroom. They also had no cold water service from the taps in their sink. Meanwhile, my sister had to wait hours to get hot water in their shower! And because they apparently only used this 1st floor hall for wedding blocks, when the Saturday night wedding party got in late in the evening, they were noisy and woke us all up. I really think Marriott could have done better. Maybe comped us a night? Sent a bottle of wine to our room. Something? This was a once in a lifetime wedding event and their ineptness put a damper on our experience. And, to top it off, when we were packing up at the end of our stay we found a stranger’s tie on the floor behind the set of drawers. Ick! Makes me wonder how thoroughly our room had been cleaned before we arrived. But the story doesn’t end there. At home, when we checked our credit card, we found that the pending c
