Great food. Good prices. One of the last if not last honest to goodness Jersey diners left. Menu has all the favorites you’d expect to find plus much more. The bakery items are drool worthy. Wishing them continued success.
Just wanted to leave a positive word for South Star Diner. I've been there twice now and the food is amazing. The service is great and all the staff are attentive and friendly. If you haven't been there yet, I highly recommend it. It seems really popular and I'm glad to have a local spot like this in town. You certainly get your money's worth in food!
Classic NJ diner with an encyclopedic menu of choices, good food and reasonable prices. I got a seafood over pasta dish that actually had more seafood and veggies than pasta! We ordered cake to go, because their cakes were too beautiful to leave behind. Great service. Love that it’s open 24 hours. Will be back!

South Star Diner offers a variety of food with good portions, tasting great and presented beautifully. The service is excellent, with friendly staff who make up for any occasional lapses. Meals are served fast, hot, and delicious, with accommodating alternatives when needed. The diner is accessible for wheelchairs and has a side ramp to the front door. Parking can be a bit challenging due to its popularity and separate entrance and exit, but there is generally enough space. The Owner is great. Waits staff are friendly. The food is exceptional. Prices are SUPER. The diner is clean and pleasant. They also have great Specials. The presentation was awesome with the mile high meatloaf. Great flavor on the gravy. The cheesecake was an absolute favorite.
