“Wherever we have lived, we have found a go-to place for a meal when cooking at home wasn't an option. The South Star Diner has filled that bill for us since 2011. The selection is so good that it's hard to believe it's coming from a small diner and the quality is right there too. Never disappointed; always delighted. Add friendly staff from the greeting at the door to the wait crew to the little girl who buses tables, the South Star Diner is our kitchen away from home.”

The weekly trivia is always fun and the live music during the week is a plus! Would definitely recommend for a fun night out or just to hang out and drink a few beers with friends.”

“Just need to take a minute to share that that the manager could not have been more accommodating, pleasant and professional. I placed an online order for pick up, not knowing that they had closed for the day due to a predicted storm. I received a call from the manager explaining that they were actually closed but as he happened to be in the building and had seen an online order had been submitted he stayed and made the food himself. He could not have been friendlier when I picked it up. Aside from the great food- the staff literally goes above and beyond. Absolutely amazing, great people, great vibes, great food!”

“Went for Happy Hour......drinks were cold and reasonably priced. Went with appetizers.......loaded fries were fantastic. Wings were huge and soft pretzel logs were great too..... Definitely a do over.......and since we live close we will come here all the time!”

“How on Earth have I missed this place? This was THE BEST Low Country Boil I've EVER HAD!!! I had Lobster🦞 Tail, a 1/2a lb of Shrimp 🍤, 1/2 lb of Clams, 2 pieces of Corn and 3 Red Potatoes for $35 bucks! They brought it out in a giant steamer ballooned bag with a bucket and gloves and a bib. It was steamed in garlic butter and old bay (they have other seasonings too) and EVERYTHING was tender, perfectly cooked and seasoned. This will be my new favorite spot. I'm so happy it's in Lumberton and I can give them all my money 💰 💰 💰!!!”

“Came in to buy several pounds of Boar’s Head Meats and Cheese since they are the largest supplier in the area and we were having a huge Grad party for our Son. (And by the way, we went charge tax). We were being helped by a younger gentleman who wasn’t sure about the difference between the various turkeys and cheeses. Then a very beautiful woman with the most gorgeous aqua green eyes that mesmerized us all, came around the corner….. it was weird how her eyes just literally put us in a trans. We were under her spell. She also has such beautiful hair. Anyway, she came out to explain in detail the various differences between the Boar’s Head Meats and Cheese’s. And even showcased some of the upcoming new sandwiches. The way she described them…….. my mouth was drooling!!!! Especially with those eyes!!!! Now wonder the one woman who gave the bad review ….. pure jealousy!! Her husband came in and too was mesmerized . Can’t wait for the new sandwich menu. She did confirm all the current sandwiches will remain. But several new creations will be added. Supposedly, there is a Hoagie contest coming and you can win $1000!! Watch for the new website. This Lady is the real thing. And vs Chris and Ted….. Live 2 minutes from here with her husband. They lived 45 mins away and really didn’t support the community they way they support Sayerville!!!”
