We came for a late dinner on the evening of 3/26 and it was our first time there since it changed hands and reopened as South Star diner.We both ordered seafood/pasta dishes and were highly impressed!!! The food and portion sizes were very good, from the Caesar salads to the entrees to the bread basket and to dessert (which we took to go).The diner is very clean and has a welcoming nostalgic charm when you walk in with a beautiful display of various cakes. It looks, smells, and feels like everything a diner should be. We were immediately seated and asked our drink orders, and our main order taken within minutes. Very pleasant and relaxed experience — did not feel rushed like you do at some dining establishments. Overall everything was outstanding without a single complaint.I’d also like to underscore HOW WONDERFUL IT IS TO FINALLY HAVE SOMETHING OPEN 24 HOURS!!!! Thank you! It is a huge treat to the local community and very much appreciated. I sincerely hope it stays this way especially since you’ve earned yourselves 2 regular late night customers :)

The cake was amazing. But the service wasn't good. From anyone we encountered. Even seemed like the workers and the manager didn't even want us there. Not welcoming with their attitude. They tried to write me the check without asking if id like anything else and then seemed upset that i did. It was kinda busy but Im a server at a very busy place too and i can still smile and give good service. I won't go back here. Won't recommend it to anyone either.

I ate all but 2 shrimp a little over cooked. But the lighthouse scampi scallops shrimp dried tomatoes over pasta of choice. Very busy on Sunday afternoon. Parking hard to find but keep trying . Worth
