I have been to village many times and found it a delightful local place to have a brew or two. Dave is an attention, friendly bartender with an excellent sense of humor that may not be appreciated by some people, but is always welcome in my company kudos to this Hidden gem in Mt. Holly!

I would give this place 0 stars. I had a very disrespectful bartender question me about my age because he said “ I looked too young to have a child” he continued to make inappropriate comments. Any normal bartender would just ID someone if they wanted to know they were of age to drink. He did not ask for my ID either, but felt it was necessary to question me about my age for having a child. It’s such a shame we live in a society where grown men feel comfortable enough to make comments like that towards women. First and last time coming to this place.

Holy cow what a great experience. The bartender made us feel at home. Recommend the peanut butter porter, the Rye IPA, and the banana bread ale. The banana bread porter mix Elvis has left the building was phenomenal. I'm sorry I don't remember the bartenders name ,but he was funny, sincere, but most of all a great host. Thanks for making us feel at home.

First time there— loved the hot apple cider. It really packed a punch! Will be back for the lemonade slushy. Nice outdoor area with a fire pit. Easy parking too.
Love this place... only get there 4 times a year.. but love the bartender and beers .. bin going for the last 5 /6 years.... the owner was a sweet heart when I lost my sweatshirts a couple years ago..

Best local spot for a good beer. Whether it’s a pint while you wait for food, a flight meet up with friends, or a growler to go Village Idiot never disappoints. The staff is always friendly and polite and make you feel like you’re a regular whether it’s your 1st or 100th visit. The beer is always great and the menu selection is large. Drinks can be enjoyed inside or outside on the renovated patio. Ample parking in the back lot is also a plus. Due to the great location in the center of high street there are numerous food options too. I highly recommend for a great beer with a fun atmosphere!!!
