The food was out of this world. Everything was freshly made. There were desserts in the fridge. OMG!. The cornbread was my favorite. I went back and bought a few more pieces to go. There was an area to sit outside. I dont know what else to say but you have to try this place.

Food portions was extremely small. 15 dollars for one half of turkey wings was disappointing.the black eyed was watery. Soul food is supposed to be cooked with love not just thrown together. I won't never support her again.

I had high hopes for Eileen Soul Food, but this was one of the most disappointing meals I’ve had in a long time. Let’s get into it: The macaroni and cheese was absolutely foul. It tasted like someone dumped overcooked noodles into a bland cheese soup and called it a day. No crust, no flavor, no soul. The candied yams were overly sweet but somehow still managed to be tasteless — like they just tossed sugar onto boiled chunks and hoped for the best. Now the chicken… that was the worst part. It was undercooked, mushy, and straight-up squishy inside. Dangerous and nasty. I couldn’t even finish a wing. The whole menu felt like a lazy afterthought. Nothing stood out. It’s the kind of food a bored 7-year-old might throw together after watching a few cooking videos — zero depth, zero love.Soul food is supposed to be rich, comforting, and cooked with care. This was the opposite. Eileen, whoever you are, please do better. This place was straight-up disgusting. I walked in expecting that comforting soul food vibe, but what I got was a sad excuse for a restaurant that looked and smelled like it gave up a long time ago.The chicken? I could literally see it just sitting there behind the counter — dry, pale, and lifeless — like it had been sitting out all morning under weak heat lamps. And when I got my plate? Sure enough, the chicken was undercooked, mushy, and had that nasty squishy texture that made me question if it was even safe to eat.The mac and cheese was gross — soggy noodles drowning in some watery yellow mess with zero flavor. And don’t get me started on the yams. They were somehow both way too sweet and completely flavorless. How is that even possible? The whole menu felt like someone Googled “soul food recipes for beginners” and still got it wrong. Nothing had love, seasoning, or soul. Just a bunch of tired food slapped on a plate. Honestly, my seven-year-old cousin could’ve made a better meal with a microwave and a dream. Save your money and your stomach. Eileen Soul Food is not it.

Cozy restaurant, seats 20 to 30. The beef was super tender, the collard greens were delicious, and the yams were the jam. Stewart's grape soda in the bottle made it a perfect southern experience in North Jersey. My friend was also a big fan of the salmon and the Mac and cheese. If I had room, I would definitely have tried the Peach cobbler or banana pudding.

Eileen’s Soul Food is a spiritual experience. The flavors hit deep, like grandma just whispered a secret recipe into the kitchen. Every bite is rich, soulful, and straight-up comforting in a way you don’t find often anymore.

The fried chicken? Crispy perfection. The mac and cheese? Creamy, cheesy, baked to golden glory. The greens, the yams, the cornbread…all fire. You can tell it’s made with love, tradition, and pride.

The staff treats you like family, the portions are generous, and the vibe is all good energy. Whether you’re dining in or grabbing takeout, Eileen’s delivers that real soul food experience every single time.

If you haven’t been here yet, do yourself a favor. This is more than a meal, it’s a celebration. 🔥🍗💛
