Jama Grille has become one of my favorite bars/restaurants in NJ and it's black owned! My bf actually found this spot last year as we were looking for a Super bowl Sunday spot with good food, music and drink specials. Jama welcomed my friends and I with open arms. Finally, a bar that plays hip hop/ R&B, Afrobeats, Club, etc!Fast forward almost a year, we've visited a bunch of times and my college friend actually is a DJ there now (s/o to @djspecial)! I also celebrated by birthday last weekend during Sunday brunch. Two hours of bottomless mimosas and rum punch plus an app and entrée for $65... PLUS a live DJ. My friends and I had a TIME!Parking can be a bit rough depending on how crowded it is. Sometimes you can find a spot right in front, sometimes you have to walk a block or two. The service is always on point; waitresses are attentive and accommodating. The owner even gave me a birthday shot on the house!Now for the food, my friends always talk about the lemon pepper wings and I never leave without ordering the bang bang shrimp. SO GOOD. If your in for a day/night of drinking with a group, order one of their towers it's so worth it.They also renovated the inside recently and it's looking even more grown and sexy. There are two floors as it can get packed on the main floor and if you're looking for hookah it's $45 cash or cashapp.Definitely check them out if you're looking to have a good time!

Oxtails were flavorless and rice was undercooked and dry. The beef patty I received was 95% crust the only “saving grace” was the coco bread and the soda was past the “best by” date. $36 for this was a rip off and I don’t plan on being back. Seeing the negative reviews and not seeing any recourse from the owners shows how much they really care.’

Came on a Sunday afternoon to watch football with my brothers. Got there a little late for afternoon games, and the place was packed. There are no available tables or bar seats. After about 10 minutes of standing and looking for a seat, the person I'm assuming is the manager was able to find an empty table and allocate three chairs to the table. I was grateful.The food was good. Had jerk chicken sliders and fries. Jerk seasoning was just right. I do wish they provided red onion and not white and also smaller sized onion. Also wished they was an extra sauce on the potato rolls to add an additional layer to the sandwich. My fries were hot and the seasoned type. Other parties had jerk salmon and chicken tacos, and both were said to be really good. Had some margaritas that were somewhat lackluster. But good vibes nonetheless. DJ was good as well.

Went last night first time. Got Jerk Chicken wings and beef patty. Patty was ok, the wings were very good (Spicy which I like!) the rice was very good as well.

Location Hosted an event over the weekend, the Security at the location are extremely unprofessional; only Female security seemed to be intoxicated and was very aggressive.No proper direction to the right place where the event was, charged customers more than once. Extremely rude to the Artist. Collected funds , and refused to pay as agreed, confiscated/stole customer’s property.

Haters gonna hate. The food is good--cabbage need a new recipe though . Service is friendly enough and the portion size is good. The inside is clean and there is space for you to eat your food. To me this is a reliable spot.
Stopped in to grab lunch quick. Only 2 other people there. The woman who served my food did not wear gloves. I sat down for about 3 minutes before throwing the meal away. I ordered cabbage, rice and 2 pieces of plantains. NO MEAT! A complete waste of $15!!! And the food was overpriced and bland. Absolutely no flavor! I will never return. Didn't even want to add one star but yelp made me.

Awful, Awful, Awful... We spent $47.00 on a meal that was terrible, the Jerk Pork was dry, dry, dry... The Curry Goat had absolutely NO CURRY & the meat was dry, dry, dry... We called the restaurant & spoke with the Mgr. Jerald, who confirmed that they cook the Goat in Curry, well there was not a drop of Curry... This was by far the worst dish we've had in years... On an okay note the Curry Shrimp dish was adeqWhat a waisted $47.00

We called the restaurant & spoke with the Mgr. Jerald, who confirmed that they cook the Goat in Curry, well there was not a drop of Curry... This was by far the worst dish we've had in years... On an okay note the Curry Shrimp dish was adequate...What a waisted $47.00...

It’s so unfortunate that I have to write this.. but, I need to let people know. I go here often to grab a beef patty and coco bread.. the one time I did order a meal I was truly disappointed. I order fried chicken, which lacked any flavor. The rice was very dry. The only thing that was good was the cabbage and the plantain…Not only is the food terrible, but the service is non existent. The guy that works there with the glasses is super unprofessional. Every time I go there he’s either on his phone or on his lap top. He doesn’t greet you. Barely gives you eye contact. It’s as if he doesn’t want to be there. If you do go here expect the bare minimum. You are better off going to The Islander located in Asbury Park!
