JA Spice Island Jerk & American Food

Best Oxtail you can get in NJ, maybe in the entire Northeast. I still think they should make it a sit down restaurant though! You cannot go in, only takeout.

Just ordered and ate the best Oxtail meal I have had in years. I am happy this restaurant is so close to me. I can't wait to try the other dishes.

I recommend a try at this place now I’ve only had the ox tail and it’s absolutely amazing every bite feels like it was made with love and brings me back to a better time in my life I think about this place often do be prepared to call your food in though because they don’t have a lobby to walk in but they pick up the phone super fast and get the food cooked pretty quick

Ordered first time. Delivery. So just food review. Jerk chicken, with rice and peas (beans). So tasty - a little bit of heat. Tons of flavor. Chicken done perfectly, juicy. Nice size portion. Reasonable price.

Drove from Sparta 10+ miles only to be told that you have to place your order over the phone. Then when I was at the front door which was locked (They were still open at 7:00pm on a Saturday night the worker was shouting through the locked door. Definitely not worth the hassle.

The food was far from jamaican, I got the jerk chicken and it wasn't as good as store bought jerk seasons on it. The food was well prepared but not authentic jamaican.

this is was our first time here, but will definitely be back. The food was absolutely delicious. The portions were large, and the service was impeccable. It is takeout only but they go above and beyond to make sure the order is correct and the food is wrapped up good. To be patties are some of the best I’ve ever had, Will be back !
