The salmon cakes and shepards' pie are among the best food that I have ever been privileged enough to eat.

Having these for dinner was as if I had died and gone to heaven, but when I got there Saint Peter told me that there had been a mixup with the paperwork and it wasn't actually my time yet, but to make it up to me he was going to send me back to earth eating Blackthorns' food.
Hardy, competent food, on par for an Irish restaurant. The AC was broken, so the atmosphere in July was literally, "stuffy"; the outside deck allows smoking, so that wasn't an option. I don't understand why restaurants want to allow smoking, even smokers I knew don't want to eat where they smoke.

The pictures are of their wings, bangers and mash, and shepherds pie. All yummy, though not exceptional.
Unfortunately there was one poor guy who had to take care of everything. Bar, wait tables, bus boy etc. He had to run the whole place. Probably fried the food too, which might be why everything was over fried. I ordered a fried chicken sandwich and we also had chicken tenders. It gave me a stomach ache.
Worse fried chicken sandwich I've had. Decent ambiance/ normal Irish pub place. Not as nice or clean as it was when it was Old Bay. Music was 80s/ 90s classics....
