“You are missing out if you don’t have Salt on your bi-weekly restaurant rotations. Simply a consistently great restaurant with great vibes, perfectly dark and busy, but not loud. Anything you get off the menu will be outstanding, I’ve never had a bad mouthful of anything. The Grouper was incredible, I wish their sesame crusted tuna special was on the regular menu because it’s that good. Grrrreeeaaaaat tiramisu, so fluffy.”

“I visited here for the first time on 8/27/22 I ordered the 2 deluxe burgers and sweet potatoes wedges and one with a salad. I like the wedges and I didn't try the salad, the burger tasted good but hard to chew for me its like chewing on rubber. The staff super friendly the young lady kept asking me if I wanted some water while i waited for my take out order. I will visit again to try something else on the menu.”

“First time here and we were impressed. The place is small and intimate, seating around 25 people. The food was delicious. We ordered the kakuni bao and they were two delicious pillows of goodness. I ordered the burnt garlic ramen and it was sweet, savory, and a tiny bit of backend spice. Our server, Darius, was an absolute pleasure and very welcoming and attentive, something that other places are sorely lacking. He had great recommendations and followed up several times to see if we were good. We will definitely be back!”

The Frog & The Peach 29 Dennis St, New Brunswick American • $$$
29 Dennis St, New Brunswick

“First, let me get the negatives out of the way because this was a very enjoyable brunch. $15 for valet parking seems a bit unreasonable with the prices here and compared with other restaurants that have valet service, the waiter service was adequate but somewhat stiff and cool. Having said that everything else was absolutely wonderful, very nice, eclectic and well put together brunch menu, bacon beighnets appetizer hit the mark, eggs Benedict with lobster and truffles was decadent and delicious, duck Bahn Mi with handcut chips was perfectly put together and the French Toast was nicely plated. Beautifull atmosphere, nice location, very relaxing brunch.”

“Quite literally the best BEC bagels in New Brunswick. Mozz sticks and fries had the most perfect crisp and the food is so fresh and good. Ordered on uber eats so my coffee order got a little messed up w sizes but I called and they said they would give me a discount on my coffee the next time I come in so that's good. Also almost never a line and seems to be a family business which to me is more comforting than spending money at a chain restaurant bc not only are you getting great food, but you're also supporting small businesses”

“I'm quite partial to the burrito bowls here, and the nachos are pretty good too.The inside is pretty cool; it's got picnic benches and swings and overall is just a neat vibe. The ordering area is quite loud though. Service is fast. Also, the menu for tips, instead of going something like 15%, 18%, 20% from left to right like most places do, goes 22%, 20%, 15%. So just keep that in mind.”

Once our group arrived, we went to a table, and the service was amazing, and the recommendations were spot on. There was a DJ when we visited, and it was great. We had an amazing time. Esquina Latina 25 Liberty St, New Brunswick Latin American • $$

“I have been at this restaurant a few times, out with friends, and with family. The food and service is very good and the prices are reasonable. Parking is limited in the lot but there are a few parking garages a block or two away. We will be back when we're in the area. I can recommend the ceviches appetizers, rellenos cups with my favorite, ropa vieja. For dinner the skirt steak is very good, also vaca frita, ropa vieja, paella and the beef ribs with guava Bbq also good. The yuca frites and yuca mojo is good too. The coffee and cappuccino is good as well as any of the desserts. Drinks and non-alcoholic drinks are good tasty. Ambiance is pleasant, but music is a little loud, so not the best if you want to have a conversation. On weekends there is a DJ and it is packed. Happy eating!”

Super Fresco Market & Grill 60 Remsen Ave, New Brunswick Deli • $$
60 Remsen Ave, New Brunswick

“This is a Spanish Bodega something like a miniature convenience store. They have a large selection of fresh produce as well. If you go in the back of the store they have a hot food section that seems to me is fresh every time I go in. There's usually several selections and two different sized trays of food. The smaller tray is about 5 or 6 in square and approximately two to 4 inches in depth and they pack it with food the larger tray is about three times this size. The larger tray is three section styrofoam tray. One section goes along the length of the tray then there are two smaller sections. Usually ufirst would choose rice either white or yellow rice with pinto beans cooked into it. They also have a pan of pinto beans in sauce if you want your rice to be wet. After choosing the rice and beans that you want they usually have two or three meats. I always get the chicken it falls off the bone and they give you a large portion equivalent to a whole chicken leg and thigh I would say at least a pound worth of chicken. Or you can choose steak that has been cooking for hours and can easily be torn with your teeth, no knife needed. On occasion I have seen sweet maduros or platanos or yuca that I'm pretty sure they boil in possibly chicken broth so it is full of flavor. The small tray is $4 and the large tray is $6. If you want to add a couple of pieces of yuca or maduros, they usually add $1 for each additional item. The trays are so packed full that the juices are usually running out the sides so they put it in a black plastic bag with a plastic fork and napkin for you. The food is the perfect temperature for digging in as soon as you get it out to your car. I can easily get to meals usually 3 meals except the third meal might not have any chicken out of a large container when I add yuca for $7. Even to meals for the $7 is a great value and the flavor is wonderful. If I'm not mistaken it's Dominican flavors. Although one time they had spaghetti which was just spaghetti noodles and some cheap spaghetti sauce which I think tasted more like tomato soup and no seasoning, meat or cheese which was terrible and I felt it was a complete waste of $4 that they charged for a medium sized styrofoam tray. My one-year-old son wouldn't even eat it it was terrible and I definitely will never get the spaghetti again. Like I mentioned earlier this is also a bodega so while you're in there getting your lunch or dinner for later, you could also pick up a pack of cigarettes or some Lottery. I looked around the store for some sort of pastry possibly a brownie or cookie and couldn't find anyting appealing. Although they did have some Spanish pastries but I wouldn't chance buying without knowing if I would like them or not. They look like the type of pastries one would eat only if they had it before.”
