“Was impressed with the decor, service and food. The BBQ burger was cooked perfectly! Made with fresh meat (not frozen formed patty) - not sure whst the English would be but I know it in Yiddish as “hockfleish.” The BBQ sauce added to the taste of the meat without being overpowering and the onion, pickle, lettuce and the challah bun were all extremely fresh. Looking forward to coming back snd trying the other choices!”

“I went to this cafe for the first time with my friends and I found it very enjoyable. The poke bowls and tea are delicious although it can be a bit pricey. They have 3 ordering stations and private seating places which are perfect for studying but a bit dark lowkey. They also have free water which is a blessing. Parking is also easy to find🙏.”

“We discovered this restaurant through RedNote and came here directly for lunch. We ordered the pickled fish and fried tofu, and we would strongly recommend both—especially if you love fish and tofu like we do.
The fish was very fresh, and the soup was surprisingly light and flavorful, not oily at all, so you could actually enjoy drinking it. The tofu was excellent as well—it was lightly fried first, then cooked again with onions and green onions, which allowed it to fully absorb the sauce and become incredibly juicy and flavorful.
The complimentary cold dishes were also a pleasant surprise. The potato slices were especially delicious, even though they were free. We also enjoyed another cold dish with onion slices mixed with peanuts, fried tofu cubes, and black mushrooms. Overall, it was a very satisfying meal, and we would definitely come back.”

Italian sub and any pizza are incredible. Maybe some of the best pizza you can get in the neighborhood. Keep up the amazing work!!”

“Food is always delicious! We always order the Peking Duck ahead of time. We had the delicious duck, skillet fish, lotus root, shrimp fried rice, and dan dan noodles. Everything was cooked to our liking, not too spicy! BYOB. We had a 6:30 reservation, every table was filled on a Friday night. The duck is better than at Peking Duck NYC. Servers are really nice. Thank you!”

“We had lunch at the new restaurant in Highland Park. We had the falafel plate which had great flavor and was very filling. My sister had a slice of pizza which she said was really good. The new place is a vast improvement over the old store in East Brunswick.”

“Had a Fantastic experience with customer service, as i was looking for some suggestions on a fairly large order for a kids class presentation. The owner and her staff member, who was on a break, kept giving great suggestions as to how to best package the items i was thinking about. The cookies and pastries were very tasty, a total hit with the school! --- Will be coming back for more for sure.”

“For those that know me, there has been a legend I’ve spoken of many times. Once upon a time, there was a place which provided me with some of my best culinary memories ever. This legendary place was called Mr. Pi’s Sushi Restaurant in Metuchen, NJ. Almost ten years of amazing experiences I had accumulated there. However, one day this place of legend had eventually relocated and, in the years that followed, I spoke of, and daydreamed of, this legendary place quite often. Then, over a decade later, I accidentally find out that they have relocated back to the area near me. My sheer joy, the smile from ear to ear, the absolute excitement, was so intense it was practically palpable. Speaking of palpable… in their journey before returning to Middlesex County, in Highland Park this time around, they have made their menu even BETTER, which seems almost impossible for a place so legendary, but it’s true. They are the best version of themselves they’ve EVER been! If sushi restaurants have a glow up era, they most definitely are at the summit of it, and will most certainly remain there, as legends do. Welcome to Mr. Pi’s 3.0! Placing a restaurant into legendary status is neither something I do easily, haphazardly nor willy nilly. For, you see, I have quite literally tried sushi all over the world. I’ve had sushi in Europe, the UK, the South Pacific, Australia, Malaysia, Hong Kong, and yes, Japan. I’ve had sushi in (almost) every one of the 50 states, except for those states in which I just didn’t feel like risking my health by trying the sushi. Of all these places I’ve been to, all over the world, NOWHERE compares to Mr. Pi’s! They are the truest of diamonds, valuable beyond imagination! In an area of NJ where you can barely walk a block without finding yet another sushi restaurant, Mr. Pi’s OUTSHINES every single one of them, by far! What makes a place so legendary? Their food, first and foremost, is TOP TIER, ALWAYS FRESH, HIGH QUALITY, and BEAUTIFULLY, quite STUNNINGLY, PLATED! Great food alone, although amazing, does not grant legendary status. This next part is where many restaurants sadly fall short these days. SERVICE and HOSPITALITY are an art form that not many have mastered the way owner Jeannette and Sushi Maestro Pi have perfected it. They welcome each and every guest with the warmest of greetings, most genuine of smiles, and truly heartfelt interests in giving their customers a PREMIUM experience. How they are able to remember so many people by name is a talent so challenging it’s practically pure magic in and of itself. After even just a second visit, you will already feel like you are home when you dine here. Our server, Cindy, made sure we always had hot tea in our pot, drinks in our glasses, and our every need anticipated and catered to. She truly excelled in her attention to all the details of our dining experience! The atmosphere is a delight, with so much space that they have multiple dining areas and a banquet room that could easily accommodate 50, possibly even 75, people. They also have (a new territory for Pi’s), a full bar with a variety live music certain nights of the week. In this massive space which was once occupied by a Charlie Brown’s of decent proportions, they have managed to retain all the charm embodied in the sushi restaurants of their prior incarnations. Plenty of space, comfy seating, delightful decor, and a bar as well, make this yet another amazing quality this legend has taken on! Of course, one can not dub a restaurant a legend without discussing the food. In the only three times I’ve been in since discovering it’s reemergence locally, I have been dazzled by the displays of sushi some plated with dazzling miniature ice sculptures, as they’ve floated by my table onwards to their destination where I am sure there were patrons in absolute delight. On the menu you can find many of the usual items found in sushi restaurants, but there is quite a list of items that you will find only at Pi’s. Their special rolls have taken creativity to a new level of transcendence. In additi”

“Honestly, this place is a complete gem. I've lived in the area for close to a decade and finally made the trip on over. The ice cream was delicious and well priced with very friendly and attentive staff. It's time for me to make up for lost time and make this a monthly excursion.”
“I love going to Park Deli. The sandwiches are always a great size, with so many options to make it your own and get great food. If you don’t mind spending a little bit more for quality lunch/dinner, this is the place to be. They even have seating inside! Highly recommend the chicken parm sub or the lawyers, my go-tos!
Parking: Lots of spacious parking behind the store.”

“I came specifically for the sweet and sour pork, but it didn’t meet my expectations—it had a noticeable gamey smell. The skewers were decent. The spicy beef potato noodles came in a large portion with plenty of beef, and it tasted like it was made with hot pot base seasoning. The place itself is small, but the service was quite good.”

“Highly underrated. Hole in the wall with a very flexible and competent kitchen staff. They accommodate a wide variety of requests from ingredient changes to sauce adjustments. They happen to be my mother's favorite Chinese place in the area, and she is very, very picky about Chinese food because she is so good at making it herself”

“This kosher restaurant serves very good food, with a focus on quality ingredients and careful preparation. While the portions may be a bit smaller than expected, the flavors are complex and satisfying. A bit more noodles would add some welcome heft to the dish. The atmosphere is equally impressive, with a cozy and intimate setting that makes it perfect for special occasions.”
