I had the tamales with pork rather than chicken. The sauce was sultry and with just the right amount of heat. The corn shell was perfect and had a wonderful texture. The meal included a small salad and beans and rice. The server was attentive and polite. I would recommend you give it a try!
The shrimp taco dinner was very good and the hot chocolate was also delicious. Though the restaurant was good, I was very disappointed that it was so cold inside, seems like the restaurant wasn't heated. It made us eat quickly and order hot beverages. It would have been a better experience if the place was heated, especially on a very cold night.

This spot is a family-ran Mexican restaurant that has some very reasonably priced items! I found this local gem as a Rutgers student, but still worth the trip back whenever I have a hankering for Mexican in Highland Park 0 They also have lunch specials currently priced at $9.99 which is such a steal nowadays!
