What started as a DoorDash find turned into 20 minutes journey in support of my craving for food that felt like a warm hug after a rough day.

This place is a 10/10 all around and such a hidden gem.

We got the light soup and the peanut soup with fufu, plus the jollof and the kelewele, and every bit of it was a *chefs kiss*.

Michael is one of the kindest people. I had my toddler with me and he offered to bring our food out to the car since it would be a 15 minute wait and I really appreciated his thoughtfulness.

“I just stumbled upon this place and I’m not from Jersey. I walked in to give it a try. As I’m sitting and eating my food I decided to leave a review but before doing that I wanted to read people’s reviews and see what their thoughts were. I honestly don’t understand why there’s many reviews claiming the customer service is horrible. They greeted and welcomed me in and even explained what certain food on their menu were so I don’t see what makes them have bad customer service. Now let’s get to the food part. I ordered their mixed grill which had three different types of spiced chicken. The chicken had so much flavor it was spiced and cooked to perfection. Overall the food and customer service were outstanding. If you’re in the area and looki by for delicious Afgan/kabob food this is the place to go. I will definitely be back and bringing my family with me. Thank you for your delicious food and outstanding customer service Flame Kabob House!!!”

“Took my Rutgers student to dinner tonight as a midweek treat. Had a delicious dinner! He was craving butter chicken, and I enjoyed the kadai chicken. Both dishes were beautifully seasoned, the chicken was very moist, and the portions were just right. We finished with gulab jamun, a perfect ending. Will definitely be back! Service was great, very casual atmosphere, not fancy but worth a visit! Sadly, they were out of many of the specialty drinks because of a delivery issue, but it did not make our meal less enjoyable.”

“All around wonderful first experience at Safwa. Genuinely one of the best coffees I’ve ever had, and I’m not even a coffee drinker! I also ordered a panini sandwich which was delightful. Their specialty sauce is a creamy spicy mustard, which paired well with their thick-cut turkey. A great place to socialize and study, and while busy, service was still great! Will definitely be returning soon.”

“Make no mistake, this is 5-star pizza. Get a few “personal” pizzas for variety: a cheese, a white, and maybe a mushroom or pepperoni - well done. Absolutely the best in Somerset area. If you stop there for lunch, their slices are quite big, you only need 1. And the chicken fingers are a MUST. We just love Amici’s. I recommend calling them directly and pick up, or ask for delivery. The owners are just great people. ?”

“I was in the mood for authentic Mexican food when I discovered this local Guatemalan restaurant. I got the Churrasco Mixto and it was phenomenal! The steak, shrimp and sausage were so flavorful, juicy and perfectly cooked. The fresh salad, avocado and rice accompaniments made it a complete meal. So good—highly recommend dining-in so you can eat it hot.”

“Recently ate at this restaurant and was pleasantly surprised by the experience!

Food -
It's an eclectic mix of sushi and a pan-Asian menu of some Chinese, Japanese, and Thai dishes. We opted for the AYCE sushi option and our youngun ordered off the menu. The sushi tasted fresh and was well made. We ordered a few non-sushi items as well - the miso soup, scallion pancakes, and General Tso's chicken were good. They have decent chicken nuggets, which helped with our child's selectiveness.

Service -
The restaurant was fairly slow at the time we were there so service was reasonable. The sushi was made quicker than some of the cooked dishes. The server was nice and attentive.

Atmosphere -
It's a fairly no frills environment. It can probably hold 30 diners without an issue should it ever reach capacity. It's clean enough and has a TV, which is rare in Asian restaurants but nice to see (especially during World Cup season!).

“Cafe Alfredo catered a wedding for our family for 100 people with short notice on 8/14. The food was delicious!!!! It felt like that menu was planned months ago. The food was fresh and hot! Our family that came from near and far was very complimentary on the taste and quality of the food. We had penne and vodka, chicken and eggplant parm, pasta and garlic, chicken francaise and my favorite of the night shrimp linguine Alfredo! What stood out the most was the exceptional service provided by Edei, who made the best Old Fashioned cocktails in New Jersey. Highly recommend this place for a great experience!”

My husband laughed because I had no idea that Nashville hot meant HOLY HOT lol. But I was not disappointed. This was the juicy, best chicken sandwich I'd had anywhere that I can recall in my 32 years.. And I worked in food service for 13 years. The service was also phenomenal. There was a rowdy bunch of younger ones at the bar that eventually got asked to leave. But she kindly let us know that we were welcome to move our table if we so desired.
