This place really fell off in the past few years. I always get the Evelyn's combo. The meat portion was so small, the pita was brittle, and the baklava was dry. I'm so disappointed.

I've always loved coming to this place. It's on Rutgers campus so parking is a little hectic but the food is good! They have inside and outside seating. The outside has a bar and the food is great !

My wife and I have dined at Evelyn's for many years but I'm sad to say that lunch on Monday, 10/9/23, was our worst experience there. They have a good menu of Lebanese food and, in addition to the indoor dining room, there is a really pleasant outdoor bar area with tables behind the restaurant. This week, we selected an outdoor table and waited for the sole visible waitress to serve us, but she was busy eating her lunch and ignored us. We each finally ordered plates of hummus, babaghanoush, and falafel. When our plates arrived, we waited and waited for the waitress to bring us pita bread that we needed to dip into the dips. It finally came, but the bread was stale; so stale that it crumbled into pieces when folded. The waitress finally brought us a fresh basket of pita bread. The babaghanoush was not the usual smoothly processed appetizer but instead had unprocessed chunks of eggplant in it. I ordered an Estrella beer on tap but was disgusted that the emptied glass was full of dregs or sediment. I complained to the bartender (not the waitress) and she offered to void the beer from my bill, but we had just handed in our credit card and she said there was nothing she could do. She did offer me another beer but I declined it since we were getting ready to leave. I asked her why doesn't she just give me a $6 cash refund, and she said she didn't have management authority. As we left, our waitress said "I'm sorry." but I replied that is meaningless if nothing is done about these problems. I asked for the manager but they said he wasn't in. I called two times on the following days, each time asking for the manager, and each time being told no manager was in and they couldn't tell me when a manager would be in. I left my phone number and asked for a manager to call me whenever he (they) gets in, and I said if I don't hear from a manager, I'll just leave a Yelp review. Well, here we are since I received no call from any manager. Very disappointed.

Full.of mosquitos . Couldn't stay longer than 10 mins . I have heard food is good but we just couldn't stay , there's no AC working , outdoor seating full of bugs. Will never go back again.. ever.
