It was the first time going to this location. We were avid visitors of the Secaucus, NJ location. The serving time was slow. The person serving us was attending the bar too. For appetizers, we got Bruschetta, bread was burned and cold, so butter/cream cheese never got to melt, and tomato's were not fresh. It seems it was a couple of days old. Then we got the potato soup, and it was kind of cold for a soup but tasted good. The time between soup and entrée was long, so long that we started to fill up with the sodas, by the time the food arrived at the table we were half full, the stuffed chicken was delicious despite missing the herbs butter that is supposed to have on top. The mashed potatoes were cold and hard, but the sweet potato was crispy. We also ordered Pan fried Dumplings. They were not crispy, they seemed steamed, and they tasted ok. Both desserts were extremely sweet, and the cheese cake was a kind of warm. There is a lot of construction around the building. The restaurant was clean, and it looked nice, but they need to work on consistency and service.

I had such a great dinning experience celebrating a very special birthday at Houlihan's in New Brunswick. Everything was superb from the appetizer (firecracker cauliflower) the ribs and for dessert the salted caramel gooey butter cake. Last but definitely not least our waiter Joey which his service was excellent. I keep coming back because of his great service.

Houlihan's is a popular place for people to get together and I can see why. I came from California to see my family and to take them out for dinner. Houlihan's had a menu with a variety that suited all 9 family members tastes and dietary requirements. There was a great selection of alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages from their well stocked bar. Music was playing but soft enough to hear conversations from one end of the long table to the other end. Even though the food was typical for pub food from a restaurant chain, there was a good selection and I was surprised at the fairly low calorie content of some dishes that I thought would be higher.

Today's visit was much lower than their standard from what I understand they were missing a waiter, but the service was very bad. I ordered soup and salad and my friend ordered the burger platter with a salad. Her salad was bought out and mine was not. I told them that I would like the salad then it never came. I got one cup of soup that came out when her Burger came out we were never offered anymore. We tried to track down the waiter for my unlimited soup and salad, never got the salad never got a 2nd cup of soup so I literally paid for one cup of soup what I should've paid for a meal my friends burger was done, but we couldn't find the waiter to get it fixed. No one ever came to check how we were doing until the very end, we had asked to speak to a manager and we told that the manager was not there. The chef came out and spoke to us and apologized, saying they were understaffed eventually and manager did come. She said she just came on duty an hour early she gave us each of five dollar certificate and she packed me up some soup and salad, I think my meal should've been paid for rather than giving me things. I would have to heat up or eat leftovers at home. We got a five dollar certificate for our next visit with an apology. This is not their normal standard, but we did not enjoy the visit at all this time

Always a good experience going to Houlihans. Food was good, fresh and tasty. Service was excellent. The only thing is that the lighting in there was dim. I could barely read the menu but other than that it was great!

Was here on 7/19/2024 at 8:30 PM, came from NYC to visit this place. Was not worth it. Our waiter Mathew was an awesome person. He had a great personality and sense of humor. Very attentive. The restaurant itself was infested with flies. Absolutely gross trying to eat your dinner while flies are swarming your food and walking all over your table and date. I had to move my table and the couples around me had to do the same. Nasty!! I informed the manager. He agreed a problem did exist with flies. After trying to eat my dinner I felt itchy and nauseous from all those flies. Gross. I’ve been to this same restaurant in Hersey PA. Much better experience and very clean. Like I said best experience was the waiter. He was really cool. The restaurant itself should be shut down and fumigated until they get rid of that gross pest problem. I won’t be returning to this location. After spending $93 dollars for a meal and having to swat insects all over my food, table and myself. Tasty and gross.

A few weeks ago, my friend and I went to Houlihan’s. We were greeted by the manager, Tyrone, who was very professional and welcoming. We decided to eat at the bar and received excellent service and drinks from Jordana. Our compliments to the chef. The food was delicious. Thank you both for being so warm and kind. We will definitely return soon.
