Love this place, it’s a hidden gem for Puertorican food. This the it self may need a bit of a face lift. But the food is so good and that’s what really matters.

These reviews are misleading. The food was not good, not cooked and just completely threw me off. Will never order here again. Why would you package salad with hot food? Give me 2 little chicken legs and “pernil”(looks like boiled undercooked pork ?) portion are small for the price…I’m truly disappointed this even passed as “authentic” anything.

Very cozy, feels like your eating at yur family members or friends house the people there are so friendly. The food is amazing!! The beef stew is the best I ever had!! Their lunch Platter is the best deal ever!!

As a Neuyorican, finding good Spanish food in central jersey was very challenging until we found Poncena. The food was really good! The alcapurrias weren't my favorite but their mofongo, bistec encebollado, sancocho, yolitas, and relleno de papa were all on point! Service was good, I didn't mind waiting a bit since the food was worth the wait! Will definitely be going back! Also, for a time where inflation is at it's highest, their prices were decent.
