A 5-Star First Experience at Sakana – Thank You, Nayoung!

My family and I had the absolute pleasure of dining at Sakana in New Brunswick, NJ for the very first time — and let me just say, we were blown away by the entire experience from the moment we walked in.

What truly made this visit exceptional was our server, Nayoung. She was not only kind and attentive, but also incredibly detailed in everything she did. From patiently walking us through the menu, to making thoughtful recommendations based on what we told her we liked, to checking in at just the right times — her service was truly next level. You can tell she genuinely cares about her guests having a great experience, and she made us feel completely welcome, like we were regulars.

We mentioned it was our first time there, and she went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and confident in our order. Her warmth, professionalism, and deep knowledge of the menu made such a big impression on us. The little touches — like explaining how certain rolls were made, recommending sauce pairings, and even her plating descriptions — made it feel like a curated experience, not just a dinner.

As for the food: absolutely phenomenal. Everything was fresh, beautifully presented, and full of flavor. You can taste the quality and care that goes into each dish. From the appetizers to the sushi rolls to the dessert, everything hit the mark.

We’re so happy we chose Sakana and so lucky to have had Nayoung take care of us. Her positive energy and attentiveness completely elevated the evening — and we will definitely be coming back soon. Thank you for such a memorable first visit!

Sakana has fresh sushi and service is great! we’ve tried their all you can eat multiple times and it’s been great always. Nayoung has provided us the best service and has been super friendly ! Definitely recommend if in the area
