Went to Japan in March and have missed the food since coming back home. Scarlet Bowls was a great find to enjoy some of the same foods we indulged in our trip. The owner is from Tokyo so it’s as authentic as you can get. We ordered the Udon, Curry Katsu, Takoyaki and Musubi. All were delicious and brought back memories of the trip. Will definitely return!

I love this spot so much! It's super close to the college ave student center, and really cheap compared to other noodle places nearby like ramen nagomi. It also has lunch deals that are super worth it, like bubble tea and poke bowl combos for $15. definitely a really good and cheap option for asian food that isn't just chinese take-out.
IDK about the old reviews about having too little protein, but every poke bowl I've had from here has been loaded up on fish

Scarlet Bowls is hands down one of the best hidden gems in the area! I’ve had Japanese food from plenty of spots around here—many charging $25+ for a single dish—but none come close to the flavor, freshness, and quality that Scarlet Bowls delivers every time.
Their Chicken Katsu Don is a comforting, crispy masterpiece with the perfect balance of savory and sweet, while the Japanese Curry is rich, flavorful, and satisfying without being overly heavy. And don’t even get me started on the Poke Bowls—fresh, vibrant, and packed with flavor. You can truly taste the quality of the ingredients, and everything is consistently delicious.
What really makes Scarlet Bowls special, though, are the owners. They’re incredibly sweet, welcoming, and genuinely care about their customers’ experience. You always leave with a full belly and a warm heart.
Between the amazing food, unbeatable prices, and kind service, Scarlet Bowls easily outshines the fancier (and pricier) Japanese spots nearby. I’ll keep coming back—and bringing friends along too.

The service that I had was terrible and even though I had placed my order 30 minutes before they said they needed a couple more minutes to finish it which was bullshit. Since my order was right in front of them and they would not give it to me

I ordered a poke bowl and received only 9 small pieces of salmon compared to the large bowl of veggies and rice. Paid around 14 dollars but was definitely not worth it. Called and asked if there’s anything they could do and said that it’s just how it is. Also bought the mango milk tea but tasted very artificial and was lukewarm. They seem to have other decent options but was very disappointed.

Very good food but not worth the price at all wayyy too expensive and when I noticed my chicken teriyaki didn’t come with cooked onions, I asked for a side and they told me $8😳

I have only been here once but you guys… I wouldn’t say I recommend the salmon poke bowl bc the actual amount of protein was SO SO SMALL. I got a build your own poke bowl, which I think was around $12-13, and my friend got like the House Salmon Bowl (I’m not sure what it’s called), which was around $16, and we both got miserably small amounts of salmon.
(Photos attached, the second photo my bowl is mixed up.) I actually liked the bowl quite a bit, but it’s just not worth it for me for this small amount of salmon.

Sushi was subpar to say the least. Both Tuna and Avacoado tasted like they were leftover from the day before. Vegetables ramen was extremely greasy and tasteless otherwise.
