We had a fantastic meal last night here! The service was top notch, the food tasted like heaven, and they went out of their way with dessert for my husbands birthday! We stayed with the Waygu appetizer that comes with the hot Himalayan salt block to cook it on.... I have never tasted something so good in my life! We followed that up with more steak, I had the petite filet and my husband had the rib eye. Mine came with a salt block, they bright one out for my husband I highly recommend asking for one if you order any steak. We both got garlic butter, put it on the salt block the put a piece of steak on and it rocked my world. Honestly. We got the baked potato and asparagus as our sides. My husband loved the baked potato, and the asparagus was cooked to perfection, it's charred and again, my goodness!!!!!! I had the crème brûlée for dessert and my husband just ordered coffee and ended up with a table FULL of desserts!!!!! The owner came over during our meal to see how our food was and I was very impressed that he takes the time to walk around and do so, and not just how's your food okay bye, he chats a bit and is very passionate about his business. Overall it was a wonderful experience and we will be back!

Our table of six had a fantastic meal and wonderful service. The staff was informative, timely, thoughtful but never intrusive. We had a lovely evening! The food was excellent. Everything from the Porterhouse steak to the pasta dishes and appetizers were outstanding.

What an amazing place! Can't wait to do it again. Wine and bourbon list to complement the great food.

Everything about this experience was outstanding. The people are very friendly, they constantly were refilling our water, the food was immaculate from the bread to the meal to dessert!

Another amazing pre theater experience at Stage Left. Server was excellent. By the time he was done explaining the specials we wanted all of them. We ended up with the Fall salad, with crisp apples from a local farm and the spring mix tasted freshly cut! We were going to pass on the Caprese salad because how good could tomatoes be in Oct? He encouraged us and said they came from the farm today. The heirloom tomatoes were outstanding and the made to ready mozzarella was to die for. We ended with salmon which was cooked to perfection. A visit from both of the owners to each table is such a classy touch. I have been coming here for decades and highly recommending both of their restaurants Catherine Lombardo's and Stage Left.

The food was absolutely delicious, and the Maitre d' picked up slack for the busy wait staff, but the noise level was so bad that my dining companion & I could barely converse. Yelling at each other unfortunately ruined the dining experience

It was an excellent evening out, the staff helped us celebrate an upcoming retirement. We appreciate all of the special attention and hospitality.

Best restaurant in New Jersey!! Food, wine and staff are off the carts ! Cheers to Stage Left

Steaks could have been flavored better. there was almost no seasoning on them at all. The bacon appetizer was also bland and on the fatty side.

Their wagyu flat iron steak is hands down the best steak I’ve ever had. Very tasty and creative cocktail menu.
Service can be slow, long waits for drinks, and tables are cramped especially when dirty dishes accumulate, but the food is always worth it, especially that wagyu steak.

Stage Left is always our favorite restaurant to go to celebrate something special. Everything was amazing. Our appetizers were delicious. Our cocktails and our wine were perfect. I had to get the burger because it is just amazing. My husband got the pork chop and it was the best he ever had. The molten chocolate was delicious as always.

The food was sublime . The service was excellent with the exception of our neighbor table being served our coffees. However, the waiter taking our order was knowledgeable, friendly with an excellent personality. The room is small and cramped but much better than our original table by the door with constantly having employees & customers coming in and out. The prices are high but the food is delicious! I prefer the space upstairs, but the food at both restaurants ( which you can get at either) are worth going back, which we do!

Great food with an array of interesting specials. The outdoor tables are particularly nice this time of year.

We've been going to Stage Left since it opened in 1992. Very creative menu with Restaurant Week specials; the adjoining wine list and store are fairly balanced in terms of selection size and product quality. You can purchase anything or almost any wine from dinner in the store afterwards, which is very convenient. Francis and Mark are highly connected to the restaurant scene and their marketing efforts are top notch. The events and blogs are very entertaining and informative. The Wagyu steak in a salt brick was fabulous, as was Maria's (Sous and Pastry Chef) cherry cobbler. The Osetra caviar with chips was amazing and a great value in our opinion. Stage Left and the Frog continue to lead the restaurant scene in New Brunswick, if you enjoy very high quality food and innovative culinary experimentation / leveraging flavors and preparation from signboards of the world.
