Ordered oxtail with rice and cabbage along with a soda for lunch. I should have looked at the price beforehand..my eyes almost popped out of my head when the kiosk said $27!! Smh I understand oxtail is expensive but maybe for lunch have a lunch special, because I surely wasn't expecting to pay that price for lunch on a side street in Newark!
As for the food, the oxtail was cooked good but not the taste I wanted. This is a Guyanese restaurant and I never had oxtail Guyanese style. Too much anise /cinnamon or something that my tastebuds found overpowering. If that flavor is your cup of tea, enjoy!

Very good food tasty and delicious
They overcharge to the max, and the food is like a 1 out 5 and not even warm. Went straight in the trash.

I ordered a curry, chicken, roti, and doubles.. I no longer have to drive to Queens to get something that I really enjoy.

Was walking by and saw A&J Caribbean Taste. I just had to go in and see what they had. It was like home! They had a wide range of food and I was so excited I asked for a sample of it all lol. DELICIOUS. Further, it was super generous of the server to accommodate my request. My favorite was the oxtail though all dishes were delicious. If you're missing GOOOOD Caribbean food and want a variety - and not have to wait for food preparation - this is a must visit. Compliments to the chef. This will now be one of my go-to spots whenever I come to my Newark Office.

The food looks appealing but tastes horrible . As a fellow Caribbean I don’t approve this food has no taste . I got the curry chicken and rice and it’s bland just curry lots of curry . I had the jerk chicken also and it’s not jerk it’s backed and taste nothing like jerk chicken . Do not cook people cuisines if it’s not gonna be done right !!!

Not likely to see this place around in the next few years. Take a look at the other reviews and you will see why.
