We had a great time this past Saturday with Gill! He is super knowledgeable about the history of distilling and brewing in Newark. The tour is a terrific thing to do with friends. And… the whiskey is so good we bought a bottle 😃
A very educational and fun visit to a neighborhood gem of a local crafter in the Ironbound section of Newark. The proprietor/distiller was very friendly and eager to teach about the distillation process and the history of whisk(e)y in the British Isles and the New World. I would highly recommend this tour especially for spirits education.
I expected this tour to be good, but it far exceeded (and not just because of the cocktail provided on arrival!) With a host who is deeply knowledgeable, a great presenter and clearly passionate about the quality and production of his spirits, you get a detailed explanation of the history and development of distilling in Europe and New Jersey, the processes used by All Points West, a brief chemistry lesson and the opportunity to taste the difference in the spirits distilled....
