Great Restaurant! Wife and I have had a great time at this place. It was our first visit there. Manager and waiter did their best to serve us. They were courteous and attentive all the time. Meal quality is top notch. We will definitely come back and strongly recommend it if you wish to enjoy the Portuguese cuisine and other dishes. Congrats!

Absolutely phenomenal experience at Allegro in Newark! The food was incredibly fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared—every bite was delicious. But what really made it memorable was the service. Julian was outstanding—charismatic, attentive, and went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of. He truly elevated the entire experience. Highly recommend this gem of a Portuguese restaurant. Can’t wait to come back!

First and last time I go to this restaurant, worse service ever. Recently went on Mother's Day for an early dinner for a party of five. From the start we were advised that the food was going to take long because they were short staffed in the kitchen. I also requested indoor seating and was given outdoor seating. We dealt with it as the weather was nice that day. During our dinner everyone at our table received their food at different times. Except for my mother who ordered a grilled lobster. It never arrived and we ended up taking that meal to go because by the time it was done (1 hr later) everyone at the table was done eating. The final insult came when we got the bill and saw the standard tip for good service was added to my bill. No discount was offered, the restaurant offered a free alcoholic beverage to offset the poor service.
