This place recently introduced their buffet. I got arroz gandules, pernil, and maduros. The rice wasn't very Puerto Rican flavorful (go to PR and eat theirs instead), the pernil was tough and dry, and the maduros were quite stiff.It's $8 per pound, so it's nominally cheaper than the buffet in Nova Alianza ($9/lb). BUT, Nova Alianza's buffet is so much better, and you're NOT forced to pay an 18% tip.Also, this place charges 3.5% credit card fee, so BEWARE!

Racist and prejudice! I called on Monday to order two small cakes that feed about 30ppl each. I was quoted $310 for the first, and $220 for the second. Although they were not extravagant cakes! I told the woman I would call back, and confirm if I want to proceed. I told my Spanish speaking friend to call back and place the same order. As expected the price changed to $60 per cake, for a total of $120 for the two cakes. Why was I quoted a different price because you could perceive my background through my voice.There was no barrier. She had an accent, however she has great comprehension! I was never asked to clarify what I was saying.

Terrible service. The person who greeted us rushed us to take the order. I felt so attacked that I had to leave.The person who was going to take our order was very rude and didn’t even greeted us. (And since you’re bringing up the body size card, she wasn’t a 100 lbs, she was quite thick)The person who responds to the comments should address the issues, make sure to bring them up with their staff and correct them instead attack them by being sarcastic and condescending. This attitude certainly says a lot about how business are being carried out and what kind of people work here.

Disappointing. My friend and I went for dinner. Could only find one clean table to eat at, which wasn’t where we really wanted to sit. I wanted to wash my hands before eating and there was no hand soap in the bathroom. I told the staff but she never brought any. Gross! I ordered the stewed 1/2 chicken which taste cold and not fresh. The black beans were cold too. Unfortunately, I won’t be going back.

Very disappointed.Tres leches cake had no sweetness at all, they put fruit in the middle, and used butter cream instead of Whipped cream. Cashier had no change and said "she owes me."??? What kind of business is this? Will not be returning here.

Saturday while visiting Newark Bought two orange juices for $15 and that’s 7.50 each not that good on Sunday try to different bakery teixeira $4.99 and coffee $1.05 And Both things were phenomenal

First they serve rotten sour orange b******* for juice and they didn't take it back. Second they took my ordered wrong and that is it.
Completely disorganized service. Terrible food and bakery. Baked goods, hard and flavourless. Food isn't hot, cold to the touch. They are indifferent towards customers. Never coming back and don't recommend.

I have been coming here for about 30 yrs but the last 10 years I have seen it go from wonderful to just bad . And the service is not any better .the food use to be great and now it not even decent . Even the hamburger that i really enjoyed is not good . I really think the owners just don't care what they are providing to the consumers.
