Server not very friendly, seemed to be tired, unhappy. The place just gave us the vibe that they were doing us a favor by seating & serving us, kind of like we should be thrilled to be there. Good food, have had better.

First time here. Great experience. We got there right at 5 pm when they opened on a Saturday. Got table right away. 20 mins later place was packed with long wait. Wait staff was awesome. Annette stopped by our table numerous times and was fun to talk too and welcoming. Shrimp beeps were our favorite. Eggplant was awesome. Garlic pasta and savoy chicken were so tasty. Could not have been more pleased. Great prices too. Old school atmosphere that is fun to experience. But it’s not a place you can linger, you eat and go. Highly recommend for good simple Italian food.

We made our first visit to the Belmont on a Thursday evening making our way to the Bistro. It was busier than expected but we were provided with seating that kept us away from the busier areas of the Bistro. Service was very prompt. We were well looked after with our meals being quickly provided and regular contact to see if there was anything else we needed. The menu range was quite adequate. All up a pleasant experience.

Sunday family meet. We were told there was no dinner or serving until 5:00 and waited outside till 5:10 opened the door and the place was packed w diners already seated and eating. Say what? The Noise level was criminally loud. There was a 1.5 hr wait to be seated. Waitress was horrible not once did she came to our table after taking the order. We asked for water 3 times and we’re ignored. We got it ourselves. I ordered eggplant which was so small I thought it was from a kiddy menu. It was not, the salad for the table was also petite at best. Both chicken dishes were good but the chicken was dry in each. This at 6-7:00 on a weekend nite.

I had read about Stretch’s Chicken Savoy and had been wanting to try this place forever. I finally did last night. Website says they open at 5:00 and we got there around 4:45 and lucked out by getting a spot right in front. We saw some people go in so we followed. Was seated right away. This place is small! We were so close to the people next to us it was like we were dining together, which truthfully, made for a rather homey experience. Especially because they were a lovely couple who had been going there since they were kids. We were starving because we wanted to save our appetites for this meal. They serve you bread and butter straight away. We ordered shrimp beeps, cavatelli with pot cheese and chicken savoy. My mom loved the shrimp beeps and ate all of them. The cavatelli was good, but nothing overly special that I couldn’t and haven’t made at home. The chicken was very tasty, perhaps a little dry. As my experienced dinner mates shared, the chicken is better the next day, so we shall see. The portions are generous. You get a plain green salad with your entree, which was dressed with a light dressing but very nice. They do offer another salad that had a little more in it and also smelled good. Plenty of dishes that went by smelled heavenly. I would definitely like to give the pork chop and peppers a try next time. This place is cash only! There were so many people there waiting for tables that it started to feel a little claustrophobic and chaotic. I do wish that there was maybe a vegetable offered with the chicken, but overall this place was good and very nostalgic. When we were leaving, the tree out front had beautiful twinkle lights on it hitch I love and up the road a little was a giant tree still adorned with Christmas lights. Beautiful night!

Wow. Food was as good as the old school vibe of this legendary place. An authentic time capsule from the 60’s. Had Shrimp Beeps, Chicken Savoy and could not pick a favorite between them. Annette was outstanding host guiding us thru menu.

Annette and her family take care of their guests. Everything was phenomenal and inexpensive. Shrimp Marsala was our favorite but shrimp beeps were awesome too. Will be coming back.

Went with my boyfriend on a Monday late night (like 11PM) and to my surprise, it's always the small little local shops that are the most amazing. Due to covid, seating was only 20 minutes, which was no problem! We took it to go. I got the Grand Slam and my boyfriend got a BBQ burger (which I couldn't get a picture of because he ate it THAT fast). The food was delicious, great flavor, and man those french fries with that burger were so good! There was an older man working that night and to him I say thank you for your service! I can't imagine having to work those late night shifts during the pandemic. However, it took no longer than 15 minutes to get everything ready. Will definitely be going back to perhaps enjoy another breakfast but this time, actually in the morning.

NJ institution known for the chicken savoy and no credit cards. We went on a Monday night and the place was packed, large crowd at the bar and we waited more than ½ hour for our table. The food was very good, we had the chicken savoy and a veal scaloppini with mushrooms and shrimp with sauce. Everything was delicious and the servers very efficient. The only downside it was perfect weather outside but inside was hot.
