Food was mid. Had a variety of options but they are trying to do too much with their food. Cozy place good atmosphere. Recommend the fries delicious but overall was not satisfied.

Place looked great. It was slamming so busy. We couldn't get a table for 45 minutes
I had the pleasure of taking my wife here for our 12-year anniversary I just found the place on Google but oh my God what a hidden gem the food was absolutely to die for everything tasted phenomenal service was amazing and atmosphere was very cozy

Especially in the context of this part of Newark, Burke's is a hidden gem. There are a number of good eating spots in the Ironbound, nearby; however, Burke's finds an interesting space with a great menu, excellent service, and a nice dining room. I went with a pork sandwich that had nuance and range in the flavors. Shoestring fries were crispy. We started with the fried shrimp appetizer - butterflied and breaded. This will be on my rotation when visiting my office in Newark.

How can this place not be a 5 star?! The service is friendly and helpful. The pizza crust and toppings are great ( hence half eaten in pic). Look at that chicken sandwich!!!
I am not from the area and admittedly was not sure of the area. I was pleasantly surprised the restaurant was safe, clean, all the clientele was wonderful.
A surprise home run!! Give it a try!

Food and drinks were good but service was slow. We got our drinks at the same time as our food. I'll chalk it up to a pre-show rush and might give it a second chance if I'm in the area again.

My friend and I came here on a Friday night before an event at the Prudential Center, the atmosphere is very cute, but they were clearly short staffed; we watched the same guy navigate the line at the door, take & bring orders, and work behind the bar.
I really wanted to like this place. They’re clearly working hard. But unfortunately, we just didn’t have a good experience. We waited 20 minutes before anyone even brought us water and menus, then another 30 minutes for our food to come. I had requested two simple modifications (no cheese, dressing on the side) to my salad and both were ignored, but the food took so long to come that I didn’t have time to send it back. My friend said the lamb burger didn’t taste good at all, and she wasn’t happy with her cocktail either.
I’d give it another try if they weren’t so crowded but I’d advise against it on a busy night.

My absolute favorite place to go to in Newark. Every time I come here it feels like meeting up with old friends and family. The bartenders are so friendly and personable and amazing at their jobs. Drinks are phenomenal and so is the food. The Burkes sliders are a must get! Every bite is so juicy and tender and exploding with flavor. The pizzas are of the perfect texture! The pepperoni is always a favorite but the potato ricotta one is really unique! The Palo Santo and the Paper plane are our go to cocktails. I highly recommend this place! It truly feels like home.

Very fun and cut atmosphere. Would recommend this place. The only downside was the food. Food was good but small portions. Our pizza barely had any barata. We spent about 100 per
person which was a little high for the quality and quantity of food.

Been here before but never been treated off. Dora our server was great. No complaints on her. The guy that said us looked at us so disgustingly, he had an attitude and asked if we’re at the right place. i came in with a tank top because im here for the ufc event but it started raining so i got soaked. he sat me at 3 different tables. Ridiculous if you ask me. the server got her 20%. this place can’t be racially profiling especially in newark. I wasn’t able to catch dora but the girl that i talked too didn’t wanna hear nothing. she just kept nodding her head and smirking. As long as you’re white. Keep coming in

Unique and amazing restaurant. I live across the street and love to stop in. Every single thing we’ve ever ordered has been amazing. Their prices have gone up on us and we go a lot less now- but they certainly deserve the success. Consistently amazing and so so cute in there. Love the ambience! Goat cheese appetizer and the pizzas are our favorite go-tos. Beautiful and delicious cocktails too. Love the prosecco on tap.
This place is a definitely a great place to try. I was in town on business and looking for a nice dinner. The atmosphere was awesome, warm and inviting. The service was top notch. The food was amazing! I had the Gochu Crispy Chicken Sandwich, it was clearly made fresh to order. I also had the blueberry cheesecake, absolutely amazing! I gave 4 stars because they were out of most of the beers on tap and the $8 side of fries was equivalent to McDonalds fries so I won’t order those again. Over all, a great place.
