The food was great. The service not so much. They don't tend to come to you and ignore you when trying to get their attention.
My family and I are avid rodizio diners and we decided to try Casa Nova as a new place for rodizio. Service was standard at best I felt a bit of aggression from service but may be just cultural differences but let me digress. I was disappointed on the limited variations of meat (picanha was their main meat which was cooked well and salted perfectly) there are 14 types stated on their menu but we only were offered maybe a third to half of their meats. At midpoint of our rodizio the meats slowed down significantly and we were constantly waiting with empty dishes for them to come around. It seemed as if they chose to end our rodizio since I requested more meat and they never brought it out, instead offering us the dessert menu. My father ordered a different meat dish rather than rodizio and that meat was overcooked to the point he had to ask for another. To end the dinner the bill came and we noticed gratuity was already added to the bill for a group of 5. The server stated any group larger than 4 gets automatic gratuity added to their bill. I’m a great tipper (usually 20-25%) but this completely ruins that for me with the added attitudes from service. This is a one and done type of place for me. I will not be going back.

Tucked away in Newark, this Brazilian steakhouse delivers exactly what you’d expect—e muito mais. The scent of sizzling meats fills the air as servers glide from table to table, carving generous portions with a flourish. The picanha, a verdadeira estrela do churrasco, arrives seared to perfection, its marbled fat melting into deep, smoky flavor. The alcatra is tender, rich, and full of character, while the linguiça packs just the right snap—bem temperada, do jeito que tem que ser.
Beyond the meats, the sides hold their own. The feijoada is a bowl of pure comfort, thick and velvety, carrying that slow-cooked depth of flavor that only comes with time. Pão de queijo is golden and airy, each bite a little cloud of cheesy indulgence. And of course, there’s the farofa, that toasty, buttery crunch that makes every forkful even better. It’s the kind of meal that makes you loosen your belt and say, só mais um pouquinho, even when you know you shouldn’t.
Service? Esquece. These waiters move like choreographed dancers, refilling drinks before you notice they’re empty and delivering every skewer with a knowing smile. Tip over 35%, and next time, they’ll treat you like realeza—or at the very least, keep the churrasco coming until you’re officially well-done.
Average overall. As with all Brazilian BBQ, it's a place to load up on your meat. The choices were hot or miss. From perfectly cooked sirloin to almost burnt sausages and clearly blue meat. The food kept coming for a while but the service was patchy. We were given a dessert menu at the end but no one followed up, so we skipped it. I'm not sure there's better Brazilian BBQ places in the ironbound. If not, that's sad.

Went there last night with a party of 9. The food was under cooked, cold, and they completely ignored us.
3 tables around us had the same meal “rodizio” and they went to every table except our which was in the same side of the restaurant. 20-30 minutes after bringing the meat they was only enough for 1-2 people for a table of 9 and the rest of us sat waiting for another 20-30 minutes we got there at 6:30 and left at 10 because we were ignored more the time. Even to get the check I had to go up and get it from the waiter.
The restaurant can only handle small group once you come with more than 3 people you will be ignored.
I definitely will never come back. I will drive to Belleville next time.

Restaurantji Recommends
I am a person who really likes Rodizio and they told me about this restaurant, I will definitely not return, the service is good, the atmosphere is too, but the main thing is the rodizio, the meats, absolutely nothing happens, the meat is dry, the sangria doesn't have a good flavor, it tastes like a medicine, no, I didn't like it, so it was the first and the last time, I definitely won't leave Fernández or Las Palmas although it's not rodizio but they have excellent cuts of meat.

“Disappointing!”
The experience was far below expectations. The meats were extremely salty and, to make it worse, served cold. This completely ruined the meal, as the main attraction of a steakhouse should be its highlight.
The service was also lacking, with delays and little attention to customers. It’s definitely not worth the price charged. I do not recommend it and won’t be returning.”

I made plans to take my team for Christmas to this restaurant based on recommendations. Waiter was horrendous, food was terrible. Rodizio was served every twenty minutes a sliver of meat. Ordered appetizers never received them. Complained to waiter and manager about appetizers and entrees. Both were not helpful at all.
Check comes. They charged me for the appetizer I never received and waiter was angry.
Check comes with an automatic 20 percent gratuity. No wonder he didn’t try to treat us better.
Absolutely worst experience I’ve ever had on a restaurant. I was told by the waiter that in Brazil it’s how it’s done.
The food tasted horrible and the pork was bad
