Wildly overpriced average sandwiches served with a rude and unpleasant attitude. Ordered the egg and cheese sandwich for $15, and a cup of luke-warm coffee for $5. I asked for a cup of hot coffee and the woman at the register argued with me that “it’s hot because me make it every 5 minutes, it turns cold when you put milk in it.” Cool.

Just ordered dry rub chicken wings at the Newark Airport Terminal A, absolutely delicious, and cooked to perfection. The server was outstanding! My only regret is that I should have given a bigger tip. And the Pinot Grigio was delicious.

Pretty solid with fast service. Staff were nice and the food was great.

Not a bad spot to wait for your flight and get a quick bite.

Some of the best airport food I’ve ever tried. Ignoring prices. They are airport prices. That said. Sticking to taste. Awesome.

Summary: overpriced, the order was wrong, and they left my order sitting in the kitchen.

I ordered a $21 chicken burger with aioli, lettuce, pico de gallo, and avocado. The cashier says he will call out when the order is ready. At least 15 minutes go by and I ask about my order. It gets picked up from a nook in the kitchen, probably had been sitting there a while. The bun is soggy. I was so damn hungry that I ate it anyway and got halfway through the burger before I realized it had no avocado or pico de gallo. I did not bother returning it. All this said, this is still the healthiest option I could find in this area of the airport.

I ordered the breakfast plate, she didn’t bother telling us till she brought our food they were out of potatos so no hash browns or potato wedges. She gave me a fruit cup, and I think they need to clean the grill because everything had this weird same after taste.
Don’t go here for breakfast

The plus to being delayed...a fantastic place to get a delicious burger. I highly recommended the City Rub burger. Flavorful from the beef, to the greens, cheese, and sauce...love it. Best burger in years! Thank you.❤️🍔

Fries were seasoned and tasty.

I also enjoyed the Cape May IPA.

I had the breakfast plate and a bottle of water for $22. The quality of the food was below McDonalds. The hash browns were soaking in oil. You should pass on this restaurant.

I recently reviewed my yearly credit card statement and discovered that I was overcharged at City Rub Smoke & Steakhouse in Newark Airport. On April 21, 2024, I made a purchase for coconut shrimp, wings, sweet potato fries, and a mimosa, which totaled $58.98. However, I was actually charged $120, meaning someone took the liberty of adding an unauthorized $61.02 to my bill.

Fortunately, my credit card company was able to reimburse me for the difference, but this situation is unacceptable. I did not authorize such a large tip, and it’s concerning that this could happen to other customers who may not notice the discrepancy. While I enjoyed the food, I can’t see myself returning after this experience.

I urge others to check their receipts and credit card statements carefully when dining here, as unauthorized charges should never be taken lightly. Businesses should operate with integrity, and customers should not have to worry about being overcharged.

In no world is a sandwich here worth more than $20. Parfaits are also just as expensive.

The sandwich is not fresh, the bread is somewhat stale, and it had a little bit of a weird smell to it.

There is a self order kiosk outside the restaurant.

Staff are not friendly, and the atmosphere is fine with some seating available.

A Turkey sandwich at Cityrub Cafe at the Newark airport was delicious; the bread was soft and the turkey was hot. In addition, the seasoned fries were hot also. Thank you.

The cute place at Newark International Airport, Terminal A between gates A26 and A10 (yes that makes sense!) offers upscale food. I passed on salads and I saw people digging into some pulled pork sandwiches on egg buns. I went for the packaged tiramisu after I debated with the cheese cakes. Tiramisu was great for packaged.
They also have a bar with lots of wine offerings, beers on tap, and local craft beers. Airport prices. CityRub Cafe offers accessible tables and chairs, some with window view of the planes and buses on the tarmac.
They offer a lower accessible order counter.
Accessible venue. Accessible restrooms in central airport area.
