I love Earl of Sandwich but this location has the rudest counter staff I have ever encountered. I wanted to order 3 sandwiches to go. The woman stocking the drink fridge told me that I had to sit down and be served. I asked about counter service and was told that she cannot work the til and stock water at the same time. I also asked about the rewards card and the response was "huh, what's that" I explained and was told NO. the bbq chicken sandwich was not good either. Guess I will eat before security next time.

What a junk hole. Got in there about 9:30 am and was looking at the breakfast menu. The server comes over at 9:45 am saying no more breakfast switching to lunch. Meanwhile the menu says serving breakfast until 10:30am. Chicken wrap was soggy and gross. They should burn this place down along with Newark airport. Suck since this is the only sit down place at Terminal A.

Don’t ever go get food here - The vegetarian sandwich I ordered had stale stinky ingredients. I had to throw it out after the first bite. Atrocious wait times too.

If you're at the A gate, I want to apologize on behalf of the Newark Airport. You have now entered one of the seven circles of hell. The Earl of Sandwich offers little solace with it's unique combination of Russian club music, tired decor, filth, poor service and exorbitant prices. Earl's mother is not mad at him, but disappointed.

They have you as hostage past security and take advantage of that I sat at the bar with fruit flies and watched bartender reserve a glass of wine that was returned S*** hole with no other choice bedtime security

This is the only sit down eating option for this set of gates right now. Menu was a standard (but small) selection of sandwiches, salads and wraps. However, salads and wraps were not available so choice was limited to the sandwiches and calorie intensive appetizers. Ended up ordering a Reuben sandwich was respectable enough. Boston lager was advertised as $10.50 on the menu but charged at $12.50 which seemed very misleading. When I challenged the charges I was told that the menu needed to be updated. Not sure that it is legal to advertise one price and charge another. Menu clearly stated $10.50 or a pint or tall so not much ambiguity there. Service slow and well below average, surprising given that all customers have planes to catch.

Hot, tasty, filling sandwich. Long wait. ordered the chipotle chicken, and the wrapper that came said "chicken bacon avocado." Maybe it's the same thing. Lots of sweet sauce, not at all spicy. Plenty of chicken and avocado. Ciabatta style roll was soft on the inside, crispy on the outside, just right. I'd do it again.

Upon arrival noticed coworker arguing.... two women. It took 6 minutes to get service. There were only 2 tables occupied upon my entrance.... not busy at all. Waitresses mingling at counter and other browsing cell. Whe I sat, again waited 6 minutes, I had to get up and request ( the waitress that was on cell) service. She gave me a menu, kept on browsing cell, and yell across to a waiter to give me attention. Upon leaving, as my boarding was getting close, I approached the counter with my ck. Lady on counter did not take my card for processing nor mentioned why.... never acknowledge my presence and kept browsing cell.FOR MANAGENET... If video service on the restaurant is active please review and verify. Ck time on Oct 5th; approx 7:20 to 7:45 am.Crew requires proper training. I don't belive I would be able to visit this restaurant again.

A nice man took my order and I sat down and the place was empty, as I was eating my sandwich, another employee there then approached me and the employees name was “Abracely” in the A terminal gates 20-28 came up to me and told me I couldn’t sit there and eat because I had the take out bag, I then asked if I could buy a drink so I can stay sitting and she told me no after I already had bought a sandwich and chips. This is horrible customer service on “Abracely’s” behalf, very unfortunate as I liked this place but will never eat it again. She should be fired.

It's a good place to eat a hot sandwich before the flight. They give chips with it.Only one option for vegetarians. No option for vegans.Also when I went there were no other things available. It was mid-day Saturday.Not much space for seating.

We had an early flight and had time to kill so we came here for breakfast. The Bar tender was really nice and offered up a selection of breakfast cocktails and was very attentive, he was not the problem. My bacon egg and cheese was made with bacon bits and my partner's omelette looked gross but he said it tasted pretty good. Then came time to pay, the credit card machine didn't work, they tried several times and different cards, the bar tender gave us lemon drop shots and apologized for the wait. Luckily we had time before our flight took off but what if we didn't and were in a rush? Finally the manager comes over and says I have to go to the ATM and get cash, I said but now I have to pay ATM fees, and she says she'll deduct the fees from the bill. So I see the bar tender talking with the manager and the bill come back, no discount. I leave the bar tender a crappy tip and go over to the manager and tell her I didn't wanna leave him a crap tip but I didn't get the discount we discussed, she says because we were given lemon drop shots. Excuse me, I didn't want the lemon drops and that was supposed to be for taking 20 minutes be able to pay my bill, the ATM fees were something else. Great management skills! So we leave and later that night we are at our vacation destination and try to pay and my card is almost out of money, I had 5 pending charges from Earl of Sandwich on my card during vacation when I need my card, it took 5 days to clear off $445!!!!! Unfortunately this is the only bar in the terminal, so good luck if you get stuck here in this dump!

This was easily the worst food experience I've ever had in an airport. I felt like I was in a 3rd world airport from an Indiana Jones movie. I ordered a Bacon Egg & Cheese sandwich and was brought a culinary abortion that I could barely eat. How do you mess that? Also, the waitress acted like she forgave you for the transgression of being there, and acted in such a dismissive manner that made some of the patrons look at each other as if saying "Are you seeing this s***t?!?"Also, there was a terrible sewage smell that would come and go. This place should be shut down ASAP.

Super slow. 20 minutes for a sub. If they weren't inside the airport terminal, they would be out of business in 60 days. No system at all? (Cashier was pleasant)
