El Rinconcito Salvadoreño

The name on the outside is El Rinconcito. But inside all signage and menu is a different. Whatever they have going on with that .., it’s their business. I asked. And they said they couldn’t change the sign outside. Ok so …
1) We walk in and instantly there’s a slight moldy smell. We continue to the tables which are covered in red tablecloths. Every tablecloth is dirty and not wiped down. I wiped mine with a tissue which the server didn’t seem to mind or care. Our instinct was to turn around and leave.
We should have.
2) The menu is dirty. So now we’re regretting sitting down but still giving a chance to the restaurant.
3) We ordered 2 café con leches. The server didn’t seem to understand what that was. We explained.
We ordered the breakfast without meat. Which included eggs, piece of cheese, a lot of creme, maduros or sweet plantains, refried beans along with tortillas.
The eggs were fine, cheese was fine, creme was fine, beans were fine.
4) The maduros were not fully cooked and not ripe. They were in the in between stage. Which I don’t mind but they were raw Inside. Still edible. But not the best thing to serve a customer. The tortillas were very flat and greasy.
5) I also ordered a beans & cheese pupusa. This is first time I could not completely eat it. It had no flavor and very pasty and mushy inside.
6) The curtido and salsa containers were dirty. The curtido had a small fork inside and I had to reach way down to get it and that was not sanitary.
7) The server never came back to ask if we wanted anything else or how was everything. We went up to the counter to pay because she just wasn’t attentive.

* I read the reviews and can’t understand how people like this place. Some even compared it to their mother’s cooking. If their mother cooks this way, I feel sorry for them.
I don’t recommend this place. My stomach did not feel right afterwards.

Las Pupusas Were freaking Amazing Not better than my moms, but very good. Extremely good. And the prices are incredible. I will be back. When in Jersey. I was upset. I didn’t get more!!!!!!! And I wanted to drive back to leave a bigger tip. I’m upset I didn’t. That’s why I wrote the review.

The food is a delight, authentic Salvadoran food, the atmosphere is very pleasant with music and the employees are friendly when placing your order.

My husband and I went to eat pupusas today at this restaurant. Overall, las pupusas were good. Las revueltas y las de chicharron con queso were “like your mom’s pupusas” ( according to my husband). Great taste and not too much masa. The frijol con queso estaban buenas with the curtido y salsa. The horchata was okay. I just didn’t like the fork on my plate porque las pupusas se comen con las manos like a true Salvadorian!!

We are going back to try more of their food.

The food is good Only there is a waitress who treats customers badly every time I call Delivery it always happens to her and when she's angry she doesn't want to treat customers well, you have to treat customers as you should, you can see that she has no manners

The waiters are not friendly, the food is delicious.

I am not 100% Salvadoran, but 100%, and after a while, but I am not a great lover of pupusas, although on this occasion and in this restaurant I can and I dare to assure that it is one of the places here in the United States where I have I have eaten one of the best pususas in my life, without exaggerating, the truth is that I loved them, they have a very delicious flavor and the place is very good, it is spacious and very clean and to complement the customer service, it is of very good quality. a rating between 1 to 10 gets a 9. Excellent congratulated them.
