Food is as good quality as its been in previous years, but it seems like the prices skyrocketed, and my most recent order got mixed up. $20 for a chicken w/rice, a Philly cheese steak, and a drink. I only learned later that they didn't actually give me a Philly cheese steak, but a normal lamb gyro. Pretty disappointing.I'm not going to order from here again.

The one and only iconic Halal R Us of Newark. I used to get it all of the time as a Uni student. Highly recommend trying the Gyros, they are delicious. The workers are always friendly, and will quickly get your order to you. The only negative that I can think of is make sure you have access to a bathroom within an hour or two of eating it, or there's going to be some bad news...

Great food, great people. I visit Halal R Us food truck at Merck. The lamb and chicken platter is amazing. ?❤️Vegetarian options: Falafel, salad, pita bread, grilled veggies.Dietary restrictions: They can leave off bread and sauces if you have a sensitivity. I never had a bad reaction to this delicious food.

It's classified as health food. I agree, I'm a lot happier after I've stuffed my face with meat over rice. Important to get the red and green sauce in the corners so you can adjust your pain.

I ordered chicken wings w / fries and what did I get ?! The fries were excellent ??. The chicken wings were not whole what he served me was three legs and a wing/ flat????!!! SMDH! I feel like I was cheated!!!
The food is not bad The taste is good but the problem is you feel like you're eating sand because every bite the sand is there and you feal it. Don't know if it's in the meat or the rice

One of the fastest most affordable and tastiest food carts around downtown Newark.As of June 2022 a rice platter plate costs $8 and super convenient to find parked between Park and Broad Street.When the other Halal R Us cart that parks across Rutgers Newark soccer field is gone for the summer good thing these guys are around.Support small businesses buy from these guys ?

I literally used to eat here everyday during my NJIT stay. They don't come to the campus during summer (that was the worst time for me). The amount of meat they provide, is kind of more than rice. Their white sauce and hot sauce were too tasty. I liked every option there(chicken over rice, lamb over rice, Philly cheese stake etc...). I moved from NJ after my graduation and I still miss Halal R'us. Hopefully, I will taste their food in next May when I will visit NJIT for my commencement. Highly recommending Halal R'US
