My first time experiencing Just Be Claws was about a month ago. I got the Seafood Boil w/ JBC Sauce, Mac n Cheese, & the Buffalo wings. The best of the three was the Staff. My Seafood Boil was cold, the Mac was ok, and the wings were subpar. Not sure if it was just an off night. But the staff was amazing! They went above and beyond to make sure that all of their customers were well taken care of at all times. The food was not what I was hoping it to be. If not for the staff, I would have rated my experience 0-1 stars. I will try this place again and see if it was just an off night. All around the food was not so good, but the staff was amazing!

Called in to make an order but they don’t accept phone order.but that’s fine because I was right outside. So I Walked in to order and seen the dining area open asked the worker(Monica I ) who told me her name was DARLA to be seated she refused to seat me because she said I had already ordered for takeout ,which I didn’t unless she in fact took my order over the phone! Because remember I had just walked in , while ordering I was not giving the option to be seated & Catfish is over cooked ! Never coming back !

Ok here it is. It's apparent that due to the location patrons are profiled and the customer service is lacking did Iention the customer service is horrible. The only professional and truly customer focuser employee at this location is the manager Mike. The manager that was on November 6, 2021 was lacking customer service skills . I refuse to patronize this location any further because the same service afforded to patrons at the JC location aren't offered here. Like the phone ordering for repeat customers it's either you do Uber eats or Grub hub it nothing at all and have to pay fees for food that you are picking up. It's deplorable and as someone who use to frequent often I will no longer give my business to a place that doesn't respect or honor the community it serves. Shame on this business and the black community is expect d to stand in solidarity with an Asian franchise that refuses to treat customers accordingly. Not my hard earned black dollars. I'll just go to Hook and Reel

Service was superb, but the food is horrible! The chicken wings are on steroids! The shrimp was head on which I hate, it didn't give me an option to select head on or head off which made me assume it was head off like any other restaurant! The egg noodles were the worst, they were so dry and stuck together. They could've at least allow you to pick a sauce to have it drenched in.

The food was amazing! I had the garlic buttered shrimp with lobster mac and cheese, coleslaw, Cajun fries and corn. Everything was delicious. The staff is super helpful and friendly. Food was served within good time! Would definitely recommend ?

This place is BYOB and is a simple family place. But they do know how to cook seafood. Service was great ( i came for a late lunch, and it was rather empty), made my order and went next door to grab a couple of beers from the store. When i cam back the Crab arrived. Seriously some of the best crab i have ever eaten. and i eat a lot of seafood. if i am around Jersey City i will definitely check it out again.

The costumer service was good and the waitress was a sweetheart. But they served me bad crabs. I had the combo with the 1 king crab leg , snow crab cluster, egg, corn and potatoes. I saved the king crab leg for last but as I was trying the break it apart I noticed it was bendy and wouldn’t crack open, it was so bendy I could even twist the crab leg like a twizzler. Once I was about the break the knuckles I got a whiff of of something going bad. I was sad cause I was anticipating on that king crab leg lol. I told the waitress about it and she deducted the king crab leg out my bill. The next morning my boyfriend and I had really upset stomachs. I’m assuming the whole combo was bad cause it was cooking with that king crab leg.

I just want to shout out the staff Newark Just be Claws, Mike, Lenora Ali, and Andrea!!! The food was delicious the service was on point and the overall experience was beautiful!! I recommended this place to everyone!!! You won’t be disappointed!!!

Absolutely delicious. We regularly order their seafood as a take away option. The snow crab legs are sooooo good - probably my wife’s favorite seafood place. Staff are always friendly and our orders are always on time.

This is just unacceptable as an establishment... I've traveled around the USA finding different seafood restaurants and having crab boil and this by far is the worst experience I've had. The minute we walked in the door, the Attendant was not dressed properly, jeans and regular t shirts with a hair Bonnet on, she asked if we were okay with their automatic 18% service charge, it was just two of us. I said yes because I tip above 18% anyway. Once we were seated, we ordered the special combo (2 snow crab clusters, shrimp, potatoes and corn with Cajun season and the king crab with dangerous crab clusters, corn and potatoes with the JB season, both hot. We got our meals and was so disappointed because the potatoes were smashed and with one king crab leg, one piece corn and the flavor tasted blan, was not even spicy or mild. My partner had two small skinny snow crab clusters, about 3 small peeled shrimp, potatoes and corn. We said okay, let's just ask for some spice/hot sauce and see if it helps. As I requested the waiter he walks over asked me what we needed and as I was speaking kept on walking and then shouted he was still listening. That was it was us, when he came back to the table we asked for the check and a bag for our meals to go. We paid the full bill of $93 that had the 18% gratuity for bad service included. We packed up, said goodbye and left. We ended up going to another seafood spot. I wouldn't recommend this place it had no ambiance, bad service and bad food. Not worth the cost.

The night of May 25th, I placed an order for my boyfriend and I at the Just Be Claws Newark location and received the saltiest seasoning with our order. We are regulars at Just Be Claws just at a different location and were polite and understanding of the situation. I called the store the next day when they opened and was told a manager would call me back to resolve the issue, but no one called us back.. We called again that night and spoke to a manager. The manager only offered us 15% discount on our next order or a 15% refund. What was the most unsatisfying experience next to the food was the fact that she *the manager* went based off of whether or not others had complained about the seasoning the day of. She even told us to "order another sauce" next time, when that's our main attraction to the restaurant. We spent $107 for two king crabs and got a refund of $16.15 for a dinner we aren't able to eat due to the sauce being extremely salty..

Ordered food from this location, let me say, it is not the same as from ordering from the Jersey city location. The food is kinda of different. I ordered snow crab, shrimp, and crawfish. The shrimp was extra salty, I had to try to fix that by making myself some rice. I was extremely disappointed because the Jersey city location is always so good, I thought this one would be just as good. The crab was okay, very small. I'll stick with Jersey city.

I ordered for the first time 5/8/21 and my order was correct and the food was good. The delivery guy was very courteous and followed instructions. I will definitely be ordering again from here. ???
