Cuban sandwich was wet and soggy, the bread wasnt toasted from the press. The potato balls were terrible, burnt, dry and flavorless. I will never buy from there again.

Food was decent, pork chops were fried a lil to dark for my liking, but over all edible, rice tasted a lil burnt but still edible and the potato ball was delicious and absolutely will be getting again ⊠(subject to criticism but this was my overall experience)

Bro the food was delicious but I have been on the toilet with food poisoning for 2 days now
This place is a Newark establishment that is truly lived up to its legacy. They have (2) locations. The food is fresh, authentic and served with the The Luv Of Manny. Boop! đ
Always good bite to grab after the gym

Food is good but bad and scary location. Drug addicts right in front of the door and at the street corner. Some even inside the place. Police always around
Definitely fell off...the empanadas are always dried out and now they are overpriced and ALWAYS SKIMP ON THE MEAT ...IF IM PAYING 20 FOR OXTAIL I EXPECT MORE THAN THREE PIECES AN A BUNCH OF SAUCE
I donât know what type of food this is but itâs definitely not Hispanic the beef taste just like vinegar. The rice was a soft and soggy. They really just need to do a better job.
I had an extremely disappointing experience at this restaurant under the new ownership. The current owner, who I learned is from Tito's Transmission across the street, treats customers with a level of disrespect thatâs unacceptable. During my visit, I had already ordered my food and was waiting for my friend to finish their order when the owner walked in and began questioning me in an accusatory tone: âWhat are you doing here?â âDid you order food?â He even said, âThis is not a place to hang out,â despite the fact that I had only been there for about 8 minutes.
The atmosphere is no longer welcoming or community-oriented like it was when Manny owned the place. While the stew chicken, stew beef, rice, and plantains are fresh and decent, most of the other food isnât worth trying. Itâs also clear that the hardworking women in the kitchen are the ones keeping the place running.
Whatâs most frustrating is the new ownerâs assumption that every white customer is a drug addict, simply because of the location. Even if someone were struggling, as long as they are paying customers, they deserve to be treated with respect. Unfortunately, the ownerâs rude and judgmental attitude has ruined what used to be a great neighborhood spot.
Unless youâre only stopping in for the stew dishes, Iâd recommend avoiding this place entirely.
