The place is located at an amazing location but getting parking on the street is really difficult. The drinks are highly OK & PRICEY... The food is mediocre. There are no veggie and healthy options for some of the people in the group. Overall, OK if you don't care for place and esthetics.

Was traveling from out of town and came here twice during our trip, once for dinner at the bar, and again for takeout the next day. The neighborhood pub atmosphere made it feel super welcoming and familiar. The bartender Moe is incredible at his job and up-leveled our time from casual late-night dinner to a bomb experience! I got a classic old fashioned, potato skins & the wings. The food was cooked to perfection & the drinks were spectacular. I will be back the next time I roll thru Newark.

Absolutely loved McGoverns Tavern. Stopped in for lunch and it was wonderful. Food was brilliant, beers were great, and the service was even better. We had a server named Kevin and he was awesome. On top of things, making sure we were good the entire time we were there. Can’t recommend the place enough. I had the spicy Bloody Mary and the classic burger. Very delicious.
