Had a great experience upon my very first visit. Atmosphere, food, upcoming artist, and patrons were on point. Try the Lauren Hill bowl, Warm cookies and Redman sangria Mocktail. Honorable mention goes to the vegan merlot, the burger. Just awesome. Kudos to the owner/staff.

As a person who wants to support black owned healthy businesses. My experience the last two times was extremely disappointing. I’ve been the only customer the last two times I’m there. The last time I had a meeting with my manager and the owner had the music so loud it sounded as if I was in a night club, which was embarrassing. I get it’s not a coffee shop, but had no idea that that was the vibe. The second time I walk in, it’s quiet, except there are multiple children under the age of 7 in the kitchen with the owner, sure that’s not legal. I’m again the only customer and mid meeting she starts blasting the music, I ask her kindly to turn it down and she rudely said she needs it to work. No one greeted me as I walked in either. I asked for wifi, and she claims she has no password. The place is expensive, but the food has always been okay. It’s okay to get food to go there. But don’t be fooled it’s ghetto. ??ā€ā™€ļø. Girl give it up. You’re not professional. Your hours change constantly, and aren’t ever in real time, I’ve purchased from you almost every time I visited. And yes kids behind a kitchen counter is illegal. Be happy no one reported your business.

Beautiful & serene dining inside. The owner and staff are hospitable and kind. The plant based food is the BEST!! There’s no place like Plants & Poets. I love all Sheena’s plant-based restaurants in Newark. Zucchini Bar, Blueberry cafe, AquaFit & Magic Cones. This is REAL whole foods & clean ingredients that’s soulful, seasoned goodness! I had the Young Hendrix (a bowl of delicious fennel chipotle seasoned ā€œmeatā€, wild rice, chick peas, guacamole, & ā€œsour cream ā€œ). I also tried the Coach Malik (waffles, maple links & scrambles (from chickpea flour). So good! It reminded me of a big breakfast I used to eat before I went plant based 5 years ago. I had some dessert pastries on the house! So good! Thank you Sheena!

It’s in the hood (where I grew up). But it’s so worth it! It’s beautifully decorated inside. It’s great to have healthy options for the community, especially in a food desert.

Check it out! You won’t be disappointed. And you don’t have to be vegan to enjoy this delicious food!

The food is tasteless. Well, I say that because I NEVER TASTED IT!!! No matter what time I go there, it's always CLOSED. Doesn't make any sense. I just left there today Thursday at 2:15pm Closed. On Google it says open. I'm sooo hungry wish they were OPEN.

ļæ¼ I was looking for a good place to eat and decided to drive 45 minutes to this place. I have learned over the years that Vegan places can be hit or miss with their hours and I always call before I go. I’ve also found that they can also be a little hit or miss on answering their phone. I called this place before I went and got voicemail, but I double checked their website and looked at their hours and it said that they were open. When I got to the restaurant, there was a sign in the window listing their new hours. They closed at 6 PM, and I was there at about 6:45 PM. When I called them, it was probably around 5:45 PM. So, theoretically they were still open, but they just didn’t answer the phone. The sign in their window listed their new hours, but they just haven’t bothered to update the hours on their website. That’s just plain poor customer service.

If you’re thinking about coming here just don’t. Save your money and don’t waste your time. I wasn’t greeted nor did I feel welcomed.I waited 10 minutes just to see a menu (There was only one menu in the whole restaurant)after I ordered my smoothie,I waited another 15 - 20 minutes for it. I asked several times for the lady to not put bananas in my smoothie because I’m allergic to bananas and she still did, so I couldn’t even drink it. For $6 for a small smoothie, the portion size sucked. 0/10 don’t not recommend.

I had the Bob Marley bowl, my husband had the Patty Lamelt. Both were delicious and the staff was super friendly. Updated from previous review on 2024-05-31

This was an utter waste of money. We got 2 Pattie La melts, Elderberry sweet tea, and the Redman sangria.

First, the sweet tea tasted like it was made with tap water. Apparently it has seamos in it, but from someone who uses seamos for smoothies I can tell the seamos was not properly cleaned. The juice tasted like old dirty water. The Redman ā€˜ sangria’ tasted like rose water(?) and perfume.

The sandwiches were packed in such an odd way, the moment I grabbed it felt apart and made a mess in my car. The patties were incredibly unseasoned, and they drowned them in barbecue sauce.

I love supporting small owned business, but it is really upsetting when they have such HIGH prices for the quality of the food. If I could give 0 stars I would.
