FIND THE AVOCADO QUIZ?
Worst food ever! How can anyone mess up avocado toast? I should have seen the reviews before going here and it seems after consistent same reviews there is no improvement. It was a mildly warmed bread served with a drop of avocado spread and tone of mixed greens. When I asked them to give more avocado, I got the response that is how avocado toast looks like. You pay in advance of the order so there is nothing you can do about it. Overpriced and absolutely not worth it. I had to grab and go a bagel on they way as I just couldn't eat it. For anyone concerned if there are better restaurants ahead on this stretch, there are. Menu uploaded for Nonna's which seemed much better from what I noticed was getting served. Unfortunately I didn't have time left as I had to board and wasted my time at Saison.
Pricy of course, but the New York Strip Steak Au Poivre was tasty alone and with the sauce. They didn’t have every wine listed on the menu actually available and didn’t have any dessert options either. I wanted a Malbec, but instead went for the available Cabernet Sauvignon, Iconoclast (CA) which was jammy, full-bodied, and delicious. Altogether is was a great meal although the service was near nonexistent when I came and there were so many small bugs flying around that I had to cover my drinks with napkins.

Food is terrible. I had the breakfast here. The sausage is cold, coffee tastes sour, and the potato chips are stale and taste moisturizing.

BEWARE!!! It’s a cute restaurant, but that’s about all it got going for it! The food was absolutely disgusting. I had a classic breakfast. I asked for cheese on my eggs and after going through the list of cheeses, they completely cooked it with the wrong cheese. The potatoes were soggy, and the bacon was inedible. And to top it all off, they ask for tip in credit card information before you even get your food. You have to sign up for an account to pay and everything was digital. Someone did help us take our order, but it was such an obnoxious and digital process. I don’t understand why they would even ask for a tip because there wasn’t real service. Also, when our waiter came to check on us and see if our food was good, he was talking to another waiter and like asked us, but then walked away before even getting our answer if we were doing well

Ordered. Waited 50 minutes and never got my food
I ordered a bottle of wine at 9:45pm. I was informed that I could not order the bottle of wine because they closed at 10:30 pm. I said that I would share it with 2 others who were at the bar and they refused stating it is a 3 drink maximum for an order. So I left and ordered the bottle of wine at the bar right across from it.
Blatant lies.

I wish I got the chance to try the food but I was quite distraught by the service, I ultimately left before even given water. I sat down, two bartenders can clearly see me, never said hi, or be with you soon, so I wait. I am a bartender at home, I understand a rush...the bar had 2 other people there not including me. I waited about 10 minutes before asking politely for a menu when I was met with hostility and abrasive behavior from one of the bartenders. She snapped back saying to wait and I will be dealt with when she is ready, as if she had a crowd of college kids all asking for natty lites. I understand there are times when it's busy and the environment is fast, this was not that time. I don't believe this bartender is a sole reflection of the business, however, seeing other unhappy social encounters certainly calls for a revisit at the Newark Airport location.

Overpriced and poor service. My mimosa was not cold. Beers are $15. Food is mediocre. We waited a long time just to get water. Our server was kind and that’s why we gave an extra star. But service was slow and tables were not cleaned. Another staff member was extremely rude and dismissive. I’d rather just pay to go to a lounge next time even if it is just for an hour.

Ridiculously overpriced, $15 for a domestic draft beer is a robbery. All the online OTG ordering is extremely overpriced and makes ordering significantly more difficult than it needs to be. If you are going to make the customers do all the ordering through OTG, while you are also mining the customers personal data, at least put some of the savings in the customers pocket. After seeing pricing in other airports within the states, this system is a major de evolution and a rip off.

The breakfast was excellent. The service was outstanding; I would like to commend RAMOS RIVERA MAYERLETH for providing the best service I have ever received at an airport. She was very helpful and ensured our food arrived on time before our flight. My sincere thanks to her.

The trouble with all these OTG restaurants at Newark is that it’s all window dressing. There’s no real individual personality or ownership. Each one feels like a high schooler’s graphic arts project: make a logo, make a menu, design an interior…done. I fly United every two weeks. I’ve lost count of the amount of times I’ve eaten at every restaurant in Terminal C as I have no other options. Saison is supposed to be French, or at least French-inspired. Last time I asked for mustard for my fries I was handed a packet of French’s mustard. Not the end of the world by any means, but an example of how it only looks like a real restaurant from a distance. Once you deviate from the company line, it falls apart very quickly. Every time I eat dinner at Saison it’s $100+ for questionable service and average food. But again, if you’re gonna be flying for 24 hours, you gotta fill up somewhere, and OTG is the only game at Terminal C.

Saison – Abuse, Antisemitism, and a Cash Scam at a New York Airport
We had a humiliating and infuriating experience at Saison, located inside a New York airport.
Tired and hungry before our flight, we ordered a simple meal:
• Chicken Paillard Salad – $26.99
• Avocado Toast – $22.99
• Coke and Diet Coke – approx. $11.00
The total, according to the printed menu, should’ve been around $66 with tax. Even with a generous tip, there’s no way it should exceed $80.
But the waiter:
• First claimed the total was $65
• Then insisted on cash only, refusing card payment — with no signage or explanation
• Took our $100 bill, disappeared, and returned saying the new total was suddenly $84
• Refused to provide any breakdown or receipt when we asked why the amount changed
• Became rude and hostile
The most disturbing part? His entire demeanor changed the moment he realized we were Jewish.
What started as cold service quickly turned into open aggression and discrimination. This wasn’t just a billing issue — it was a blatant case of antisemitic behavior wrapped in a cash scam.
We refused to pay and walked out without eating.
This is how discrimination looks in a modern airport restaurant.
To anyone passing through a New York airport: avoid Saison.
If you’re Jewish — especially.
If you value honesty and dignity — stay far away.
