We were the annoying customers who didn’t want to do the QR code ordering. Our server was friendly and helpful, and, for the first time ever, I had a ‘well done’ burger that was still juicy. Extra kudos to our great Haitian server (sorry we didn’t catch your name) who went searching for mayo for my wife’s chips. Thank you to everyone who attended to us.
Over the years, I considered this one of the best, albeit expensive, EWR dining spots. Memory either fails me or Saison fails me, but nothing like I remember. There literally was no one there at lunch hour and empty tables of people but crumbs still stayed. Just not a fresh clean feel. Ordered anyway, for old time sake, although there are now several decent competitors that we surveyed but decided to do familiar. Alas, pretty ordinary burger, a bit overcooked and lacking anything...
Pricy of course, but the New York Strip Steak Au Poivre was tasty alone and with the sauce. They didn’t have every wine listed on the menu actually available and didn’t have any dessert options either. I wanted a Malbec, but instead went for the available Cabernet Sauvignon, Iconoclast (CA) which was jammy, full-bodied, and delicious.
