Always a treat to find an authentic institution where the food speaks for itself! I've always hailed Newark as having the best Iberian food in America and this place backs it up! Parking is easy and free, service is beautiful and all the food is fresh, flavorful and delicious. We got the bacalao fritters, pulpo ensalada, sopa de mariscos, salmon and pork tenders. Topped off with vinho verde and marscapone cup everything was delicious. The restaurant itself is cozy and intimate, yet lovely table settings and bar.

Authentic Portuguese cuisine. Octopus, mussels, apps and a Portuguese version of a seafood paella platter had us stuffed. Good service and cozy classic restaurant. BIGGEST DOWNSIDE: NO BREAKDOWN ON THE BILL !!! That's a Huge Nooooooo! I hate places that do this. I was in a rush to see a show at the center and could not really dispute it, but I definitely felt like I overpaid. Times are tough now with pricing, and it is seafood, but the quick math in my head makes me feel like they got one over. For your customers satisfaction and assurance find a way to print out a breakdown of the BILL. It's 2024. Thank you

The food is always amazing. I usually eat in, but this time I ordered mussels to go. The portion was incredible. Everyone loved it at home.

We used to love this place, but did not visit it for several years. Today it was a disappointment. Meat was dry and missed any seasoning. Octopus was too salty. Service was bad - they added items I did not order to the bill. I won’t come back

I went around 2/3pm. Was able to find parking right in front. The restaurant is nice inside they have a bar and tables are in the back. I got the. Costeletas de porco na grelha. There was two and very fulfilling. It's served with rice and home made chips. I recommend this dish because it's very flavorful and it's enough to take home. They also give u bread while you wait. I will be coming back.

Seabra's Marisqueira is a haven for delicious Portuguese food in Newark. It's a perfect place for both lunch and dinner gatherings with friends, with ample space to accommodate large groups. They boast a fantastic selection of appetizers, from cured meats like chouriço to savory pastries like pastéis de bacalhau and shrimp rissóis. Be sure to try the Bolhão Pato, a classic dish featuring little neck clams. For the main course, prepare to be impressed by their generous portions. They offer succulent lobster, flavorful lamb, juicy tomahawk steaks, and a variety of seafood rice and açorda dishes. Don't forget to save room for dessert – their sweet treats are just as delightful.Their drink selection is on point, featuring a variety of wines, sangria, and the traditional Portuguese after-dinner liqueur, amarguinha. The friendly service and welcoming staff add to the overall enjoyable dining experience.

We went on a Monday night. We had some relatives visiting from overseas. Wanted to show them the Ironbound. Got street parking on the block. We ordered an amazing house salad, stuffed mushroom, Scallops & Prawns in Garlic sauce. Paella Valenciana had everything - seafood and meat. Mascarpone dessert with chocolate was really good. We ordered enough food for 6 or 7 people portion-wise, but were only 3 of us. Food was good, but bill including sangria and scotch came out to $220 for 3 of us - would have been half of that before. So for that price in Newark, should have been unforgettable. Also weirdly, there was 1/2 lobster left at the end of dinner. I thought I'd have it for dinner the next day. But they didn't put it in the box. That was weird. The staff was very nice, and they let us hang out as long as we wanted. Didn't rush us.

I really wanted to like this place but the food was so bland I'm very confused. The Grouper was rubbery, I have never seen fish that texture.I don't understand how you can charge $60+ for a piece of fish that had no seasoning and is not fresh. The rice served was lukewarm and clearly not made that day. Shrimp was not deveined. Ordered a mixed seafood special-bland. So bland. Gratuity for 2 was added. Spent $200 on I don't know what.

Just happened to find this place as we were walking around during a street festival in Aug. ‘22. This was some of the best, most flavorful food I have ever put in my mouth! Acorda de Marisco !! We often, and I mean often, talk about this dish. We’ll be back someday for

Maybe my wife and I have become food snobs but we were just expecting 'more' out of this place. We found this place on Yelp as highly rated from the locals for best in-class Portuguese Seafood but when we went there - it was just okay. Maybe it's a Newark thing? The octopus salad my wife couldn't stomach after a few bites and the Mariscos stew was ...nothing special, to say the least. Overall for the price we paid for one appetizer, one shared dish and one alcoholic drink - we might have had a better time at a franchise like Red Lobster, hate to say. They also charged us 18% automatically which I thought was a little weird.
