This review is for the Starbucks in Term B that is in the section with Gate 48. Happened Oct 7 around 11am. The woman that took my order was super rude. I told her my drink order - Chai Latte Grande. What size? she says. So I tell her again, grande. Apparently listening is not one of her strong suits. Then I say I want egg bites. Egg white? she says. No, I say. She then immediately starts explaining to me that they have different types, blah blah, just said in an obnoxious way. Wow, I didn't know they had different kinds of egg bites. Who knew?? But you could have asked, what type? Or bacon or egg white? But no. That would be too easy, you have to go into some sort of condescending speech about we have different kinds of egg bites and I'm just trying to help you. No, you're just trying to be a b with an attitude. So I thanked her and she thanked me back sarcastically. Boy, I sure hope she finds a job where her skill set is compatible with the job duties. And I'm never going to that Starbucks again.
Used my app to order ahead and skip the waiting. My drink was perfectly made and ready when promised.

I purchased a mocha Frappuccino at the Newark Airport during a layover for a flight to Houston this past May. It was very weak and did not have the usual espresso flavor. It was very disappointing.
Service is slow and staff not friendly. There is a 3% "Staff Retention Fee" added onto every transaction, with no signage before checkout to indicate. Seems like management is taking advantage of passengers who want to get to their gates quickly - few people would slow down their morning to argue this after the fact, especially with long lines. As someone who manages restaurants and hotels financially, I can attest to these fees being a lazy profit grab and having no basis in anything related to employee welfare. Hidden fees are illegal in the state of New York, and probably in some violation of the franchise agreement with Starbucks.
On the way to catch a plane, we passed this coffee shop in the corridor. We took out cups with us and sipped coffee at the gate where we had plenty of time to relax before boarding.
Very bad and slow service. Baristas are so busy talking to each other that it takes forever to get your drink done. They remade my drink in the same cup for some reason after they made it wrong.

The Starbucks in front of gate C131 is taking orders only « via the app ». There are 3 girls present there, 0 clients but if the app does not work you cannot order. Summary 3 girls payed for chatting among themselves an frustrated customers.
Ladies working there were nice. Drink was good. This is a licensed location and not corporate owned so they can’t apply coupons from the app when ordering at the counter. If using coupons, try ordering from the app for pick up instead

This SB is located immediately to the left of EWR terminal 3 TSA security. I found the staff to be polite despite some unruly and impatient customers and frustrated travelers. We got the seasonal drinks for winter and they were executed at around the same quality as other normal Starbucks. Expect the prices to be higher but remember that it’s fair because you are buying coffee on the airside of the airport.

Avoid this location. 2 people ahead of me and I waited 15 minutes for a drink. They had 4 people “working”. Morning shift on a Wednesday.

Starbucks terminal C 133 I had a very bad experience yesterday, the lady gave me a very bad attitud just for asking for more cream in it. She was very rude and threw the entire coffee out.
I went to a Starbucks at an airport in New York for the first time, and I felt that the customer service attitude of the staff was not very good. This is not Japan, so maybe it's normal...
