I celebrated my PhD last night in this delicious restaurant. happy to tell that we passed a cool evening and the venue was surely one of the reasons for that fruitful event. The team collaborated in a pleasant manner, the food was great and my guests were extremely joyful. We shall definitely come back again for more celebrations. thanks very much.

I've visited here once and order the general tso chicken and rice and I can't remember what kind of burger but it had turkey bacon and fried egg on it. AMAZING! Can't wait to come back when I visit Jersey! I tell all my friends about this place. Customer service could be better though.

I went there last year and I wasn't satisfied with the food and I thought the price was kinda high for the quality of the food

Hidden Gem in Newark. Wonderful chicken/shrimp on waffles. Everything was crisp and seasoned so well. I love the sauce they drizzled on the waffles and that they have a shrimp option. I know everyone is weary of Newark but take a stroll (or order delivery if you wanna stay in). My only thing is that it was a little dusty where we sat on the 2nd floor but the food is so good and different, it is something that can be overlooked.

*experience August 21 2019* I am so , so , apologetic to those I could not save do to my procrastination in writing this review . I had plan to meet up with an old friend to have some girl chat , I unwittingly let her choose the spot (sorry sis) upon entering we were greeted at the door and the "menu" was explained to us . The women told us that last Wednesday things were very Unorganized due to blue crabs being only one dollar (Im still guessing) and that this week they would be given out a red raffle ticket and green raffle tickets. she explain different prices for each colors which sound very confusing so I opted to pay about $20 for a bag of crab legs that came with corn and potatoes and also for purchase three or four wings for a dollar a piece . Don't quote me on prices I'm merely estimating going back in my memory . Anywho we placed our orders and decide to walk up a flight of stairs were we were told there was more sitting ... it was really dark and gloomy up there so we came back down and sat and the well lit area across from the LOVE wall when we sat down I kid you not us was 5pm ... my friend gave me a heads up and said I think our food comes With a "red raffle ticket "for free sangrias which we walked back up to the front to confirm and we were given a ticket . I sat back down thinking I would be served sangrias all the while 3 to 4 people are paces back and forth in and out the restaurants and down the stairs in all black uniforms . I get up again and inquire where I was to go to find the sangria and I am told it's up stairs ... now I remember being up there earlier but almost a half hour is past so maybe they have set up a table or something I go back up stairs and. See 2 people chatting and I'm told there's more stairs in the back there I will find sangrias so I walk up another flight to a attic Ish area and find a bar with about 10 people , hookahs and Sangria !!! So I give out red tickets and come back down stairs with 2 cups of sangria in my hands it is now about 530pm Then in walks "the cook " I kid you not I think he literally had just walked in and saw his orders and he came to the table and asked if we wanted to try the house sauce in our boil bags . I asked what was in it and he really could not Describe the sauce, he kept saying it's not your average sauce he said it was white he said it's kind a like a Caesar dressing ??!! and kept saying I had a little bit of everything in it garlic onions etc. as I'm writing this idk why the hell I said yes to this sauce lol Anywho the wings come out at 603 pm (picture time stamps) and there were actually delicious I may give 2 stars just for the wings I can't decide yet . But then the boil bags come out at 613pm yes we waited a hour and 13 min for food smh and lack of service . The white sauce was not a hit . And I really think they through a Idaho potato in the baG . I have never saw a boil with a Idaho potato and it didn't even look clean . See for yourselves . All in all I was too through and of course my friend wanted her money's worth so she drag me back up stairs with her to have another round of sangria which I didn't drink . I was traumatized. And I will not be back .

There are a variety of restaurants downtown in Newark, from trendy sports bars to well-heeled reservation only eateries. But nothing has the pulse of local cuisine than Sugar Daddy's. Located off of busy downtown streets on Halsey, Sugar Daddy's has many soulful favorites. Mine was boneless fried chicken, soaked in Louisiana Hot Sauce and served up with butter and surup laden waffles! OUTSTANDING. Moderately priced, you will not be disappointed with your breakfast or luck menu choices.
