Decent drink.
I found it to be a little bit too sweet even though I ordered 50% sugar.
Matcha was a bit too light in my opinion compared to matcha drink from other places.
Ordered online, but they couldnt find the order, but that's ok.
I went here today for the first time and I wasn’t totally satisfied. I got a matcha latte with strawberry, and I didn’t taste the matcha at all. It tasted like water and the strawberry puree was just clumps even after mixing for a bit. I ordered a breakfast sandwich and that wasn’t too bad tbh, just a bit small and underwhelming. Flavor wasn’t too bad. I don’t think it was worth the almost $20 I spent, and I probably would come back. I hope this place does well, I’m sure others have had a different experience. Staff was kind and the place itself was nice!
Katarina is so sweet and provided great drink recommendations!
Super helpful friendly barista. Biscuit sandwich was delicious.
This place is great! I love the dreamy and the fact that I can order a pup cup is EVERYTHING! But, I’m gonna hold their hand when I say this, the Thai Iced Tea is absolutely revolting. I’m sorry, but you guys MUST remove it because it is anything but a Thai iced tea. It tasted like a uber processed carrot juice. And i love carrot juice, but no. Couldn’t even drink it and I bought a quadruple haha! I’ll def continue to order but please remove that monstrosity, please! Great place!!
I’ve been a consistent patron of sweet waters for 4 years now, even though my bagel sandwiches may have been frozen in the middle or my fruit teas taste more like water on some off days I’ve always came back bc it’s a cool place. I’m even part of the rewards program that’s how much I love it there but today put a bad taste in my mouth when I was denied a spoon when I asked the cashier. I was told to buy something which I wouldn’t have mind but I’m there so consistently that I thought one spoon wouldn’t be too much of an ask. Idk it just left a very bad taste in my mouth and this cafe will never see me or my money again. I hope the money that was saved on 1 spoon freebie was worth it❤️
Matcha was actually horrid, had no taste looked pre-made and a swampy color. Other than that the atmosphere and service were great.

I ordered a croissant with egg and cheese through Uber Eats, but it arrived raw. When I contacted the store, the barista tried to help, but I could hear the manager yelling in the background. They asked me to bring pictures of the raw food in person, but since I don't have a car, I asked if I could send the photos via text. The manager told the barista to have me send them through email, but I was given an incorrect address. During the conversation, I overheard the manager angrily asking the barista, "What do you want me to do?" to which the barista responded, "I don’t know." I still haven't been refunded, and I’m shocked by the lack of professionalism.

A small but easily accesible cafe, with great options outside of coffee. More importantly has Wi-Fi. Really warm staff, very welcoming !

Best coffee shop in Newark! I am someone who values good coffee, but also kind service, good seating, good wifi, and accessibility. Other coffee shops are too small to even sit. The staff goes above and beyond to make you feel like family and the coffee is great! Good food as well, reasonably priced. Thanks for being my go-to spot on my work trip. -Sara/Bryant (From the ream with Brad!)

my first time here and I wanted to like the coffee. I had a cappuccino with almond milk and it was awful, it had a very weird taste to it even though I added sugar. this is the first time I've tried new coffee in a long time and didn't enjoy it. very bitter tasting, so I won't be back. had to throw it

Their coffee drinks are nice, with some creative combo. The indian(?) lady is very upbeat and dynamic, wonderful presence. I'm not as keen about the pastries which are supermarket level, heated and delivered so hot that you burn yourself, and ultimately saggy. A good spot to grab coffee on the way to campus.

Genuinely has to be the best iced chai latte i’ve ever had, it tasted like genuine chai was brewed. It’s quiet and everyone sitting around had a calm keeping to self vibe, just enjoying their coffee or food. Try the Iced chai latte with a shot of espresso and lavender syrup, it was so refreshing, with a slice of tiramisu.edit:Also the cashier and barista was so sweet to me and soft spoken, such a nice vibe inside!

I gave this place a fair chance but unfortunately, it didn't meet my expectations. The owner of this place is very friendly, but the barista with the short blond hair is unfriendly, doesn't greet customers, and usually made my lattes very watery (showing little to no effort). I don't usually write negative reviews, but I felt compelled to share my experience. This barista even refused to give me a straw when I asked for one. Yes, a simple straw! For these reasons, I will continue to visit ELAN Cafe, located two blocks down on 87 Halsey St. Newark, where the staff and service are excellent.
