In town on business, my colleague and I found this place on Google. I was so impressed that I went back the following night by myself for dinner! It is an amazing place. Every dish we tried was absolutely fantastic, and the service is top-notch. The bartenders were as friendly and efficient as they came. The owner was present during both visits with a welcoming smile. I like places that have regulars, and many patrons were longtime regulars. If you are in town, this restaurant is a must visit.

Had a FANTASTIC time today. Two of us drove from Connecticut, one from Philly (virtual coworkers who wanted to meet on the middle). Never been here. The food was excellent, the wait staff was awesome and very accomodating considering we parked our butts for some time to catch up.It was totally worth the 2.5 hour drive up and 4 hours back (LOVE traffic, lol). Highly recommend and WILL be back!!

Staying overnight nearby before my flight back home and searched restaurants nearby. Taste of Portugal had good ratings and was something I don't ever remember trying. When I walked in it was loud, but in a good way, like people were really enjoying themselves. I was excited to get started.Very complete menu of options from appetizers to meals. I chose the full red snapper, side salad, and glass of Portuguese red wine.Wine was nice. Medium bodied. A few too many red onions on the salad, but otherwise good. The fish was also just ok. It wasn't bad, but was very boring. The presentation was nice.Had the sawdust cream dessert and it wasn't far from real sawdust. The cream was tasty and not too sweet.Wish I could give a higher rating, but was just mid overall.

Service was excellent! I had early and the restaurant was not busy. The food was seasoned well and tasted good. My only complaint is the lobster tail didn't have enough lobster in it, which was disappointing.

On the way back from New York City, we made a lunch stop at Taste of Portugal in Newark. Although the skirt steak was delicious, the service was slow. I guess we caught them at a horrible time of day... For lunch, about 200 p.m.This is a neighborhood eatery with wonderful atmosphere and food that is definitely worth trying. The price is reasonable. $150 for a group of five. Excellent food selection. Excellent, but not outstanding. It's definitely worth looking into.

Service is amazing and food and drink even better. It’s a very popular restaurant. Renovations highly recommended. It’s a high end Portuguese restaurant. Dress nice and be ready to enjoy a great dinner experience of over two to three hours. Service is top notch and very attentive. I highly recommend the steak on the stone. It’s my family’s favorite go to. It’s a large piece of tender filet mignon cooked on a stone. Definitely an experience. Desserts are great and with a nice Porto wine.

After being in Portugal on a vacation I thought I should visit a Portuguese restaurant in Newark. The waiter was good but the food was not to my liking. My wife and I shared a seafood soup which was spicy, the calamari in the broiled seafood platter was rubbery and my wife’s sea bass was overcooked and dry. Overall a disappointing meal in a very noisy restaurant.

For a Friday night and even though they had a couple big groups having parties, I was able to get a table for one right away. The service was very good also! I started with nice rolls, olives, and Cabernet then had a broiled octopus entree, the whole octopus ( pictures of both are attached). The octopus was delicious and very tender.
