I'm reviewing based off of two visits. The place is nicely decorated and clean. The staff was always friendly. I didn't wait long to receive my orders both times. Yheir prices are reasonable. All the food tasted good that I ordered (Wings, Crabs, Rice, Green beans, Fish) except the Mac and Cheese honestly. That's one of the main soul food dishes that many people want, they need to get a different recipe for that. I ordered sautéed shrimp also, good but had no flavor.

As a resident of Newark New Jersey, you guys have got to get someone else to make those sides. I mean, I can make mac & cheese tastier than that. The wings are good On some occasions. Please understand that no matter how long a customer waits or is angry because of the wait if the food slaps, they’re going to come back, no matter what so please put your energy into making your food slap, no matter what and I guarantee you will not lose customers. Customer Service as far as your employees yes they may need a couple of classes.

Just tried this place for the first time and sadly the food was so salty that I couldn’t eat any of it! The buffalo wings The Mac and cheese as well as the string beans all were salty as if someone spilled the container of salt on all of the food because who in their right mind would use so much salt!! Total waste of money

Stopped in hoping for a simple, decent cup of coffee and a meal, but unfortunately, this experience was awful from start to finish. The coffee was completely burnt — bitter and undrinkable. When I politely mentioned it, I was told I was wrong and that “the coffee wasn’t burnt.” The rudeness and lack of basic customer service were shocking. It was so unpleasant I couldn’t even finish my meal. To make matters worse, everything was overpriced for the quality and service. I will never step foot in this diner again. There are plenty of places nearby that actually value their customers and know how to brew a fresh pot of coffee.

If you was to ask me 2 years ago id definitely say this is the place to go to. But the food was not it. I got fruity pebbles waffles and honey bbc wings and Mac n cheese. And fried salmon yams and Mac n cheese . And some tea. Only thing I enjoyed were the waffles. The chicken had a sour taste nothing honey to it at all. The yams tasted like carrots. Didn't add nothing to it. And the Mac n cheese had to much of everything and not enough of real cheese. Tasted like cheese sauce . The salmon had no taste to it at all. Idk what happened to this place but please bring back the old chef if that's what it is . 😭

I placed an order for door dash yesterday at 7:01 pm. When I went to go pick the up the order yesterday the first thing the male with the glasses said to me was,” just to let you guys know, we start cleaning up around 7:30”. Not only that they were cleaning up table behind the counter while there were orders still on the table. He then handed my order with the most rudest attitude. This is still the same male by the way. Then I the food wasn’t to my liking at all. This spot is definitely overrated for sure.
I got the combo with the Mac and cheese, yams and roasted salmon. I was reallyyyyy excited to try the Mac and cheese but it was salty. Everything else was amazing. I love the atmosphere it’s very friendly

The customer service was terrible. Big man with the glasses was extremely rude and short. Talking to us like was were bothering him. Ordered the golden bbq wings, mac & cheese and corn on the cob. Wings were good.. the golden bbq sauce was delicious. The mac & cheese was entirely way too salty to eat. I took one bite and threw the rest out, literally high blood pressure in a container. Didn’t taste any mac or cheese, just salt. The corn on the cob was ok.. they put old bay seasoning on it, don’t know how to feel about that. The flavors didn’t mesh well for me, so I threw that out too. Overall bad experience. For this place to be so hype online I expected way more. Never going there again.

I ordered my food online got there had to wait in line and it was hotter in there than it was outside. Got my order drove to see they gave me the wrong order!!! I called and the person who answer the phone was rude! I took 2 bites of the Mac and cheese one bite was hot next was cold 🤬 just a waste of money I DONT RECOMMEND
