Communicating with The Weekend Spot about catering my baby shower has been the most unprofessional customer service I’ve encountered. I was introduced to them from a gender reveal where they catered not long before I contacted them. I was emailing catering Director Rachel on scheduling a tasting which I was willing to pay for with the understanding that 15% is credited towards the catering bill. Cool. She said her chef wasn’t available on the days I selected and to provide other days. Once I responded I stopped hearing from Rachel. I followed up again via email a few days later to receive no response once again. Calling them is out of the question because I have been calling and leaving messages to get no response from the very beginning. I even went out of my way to stop by the restaurant during the business hours listed on google not once but twice on a Saturday after communication ceased to see that the gate was down. Before deciding to go with another company I hit them up on Instagram to again receive no response. It is truly a shame that when trying to support a black business I encountered such unprofessional. I was willing to spend over $1000 in catering at the recommendation of someone else. Imagine being pregnant dealing with the stress of planning a baby’s shower and have to deal with this. Everything happens for a reason because I ended up going with Mrs. Tee’s catering where I had a much better experience.

Chef Monique & her team provide a culinary experience for your soul! The food we catered (Mac & cheese, greens & cabbage mix, along with jerk salmon) were all delicious with the perfect amount of heat. The dishes were beautifully presented for us upon pick-up to warm easily for our gathering with specific warming instructions to prevent drying out. Our family appreciated the hands that prepared our feast. Chef Mo goes out of her way to make sure details are met with a smile! I would highly recommend everything on the menu.

I ordered for the first time on Uber eats because of the great reviews but maybe they are having an off night but I was really disappointed the salmon was ok but the mash potatoes taste old and are stiff like they been sitting all day

A hiding jewel. After the Missy Concert, we decided to check out some local black owed businesses while in NJ. We ordered the lamb burger and the oxtail burger. Boy oh boy, it hit the spot! The cake must have been popping cause people were picking up orders but by the time we ordered it was all gone. Waiter and chef was very friendly.
Location small, location not the best (in park alot of unwanted traffic).

I ordered from The Weekend Spot during the pandemic in early 2022 and was just reminded of them from a social media post that I shared with a friend.
The food was amazing. I had ordered the oxtail and grits and chicken and waffles for my daughter. I had never eaten grits before and wasn't a fan, but I gave it a try and couldn't be happier. My daughter raved about her chicken and waffles. The chicken was seasoned just right as well. I had ordered back to back that weekend. I was a turn-off for the owner to ask me why I was coming so much, like a woman can't take a break from cooking for the weekend. Nevertheless, I definitely have to try it again one of these weekends.

I used “The Weekend Restaurant “ to cater my sister’s repast. I must say I never eat or go to a soul food restaurant because I’m from the south and I know and cook good soul food. The food at the repast was outstanding and everyone there talked about how good the food tasted. She delivered, set everything up, and was on time! I commend the professionalism and hospitality. Thank you and may God continue to keep you at the top of you profession! Amazing job!!!

If I could give it zero stars I would. The Mac and cheese is so salty! The rice is hard. And the salmon is barely seasoned. This food is so nasty and I’m so annoyed I spent money on it.

I love this restaurant! We order delivery every weekend! The workers are so nice. The food is delicious. My family and I love the mac n cheese and collard greens in particular. The beef stew is delicious and the fried chicken wings are so good. I am a big fan.

Best Soul Food in NJ no questions asked... make sure you call your order in because it's cooked fresh but The Good Lord blessed every second of the cooking of this food.

The weekend spot has been one of my staples at least twice a month. The food is always excellent and served in great portions as well as temp. Whenever I need some good soul food after a long week the Weekend Spot is it!
