Wow! The alkaline food here is amazing. Its hard to find alkaline food based resturant in Newark. So grateful for this location. Shout out to the two Hispanic/ Latino workers who work there. They are great!!! Excellent customer service!

Every time I find myself in town, there’s one place that Rojo from Powerful Pioneers introduced me to that calls my name like a favorite poetic melody, Zucchini Restaurant. And let me tell you, they never miss a beat. This time, I was welcomed with open arms and bright smiles from Jimmy (aka James) yes, double names, double charm and the lovely Bella, who was shining on her very first day! Shout-out to Bella: you did that! Also sending love to Roger, who brought the vibes and found me a bag so my food wouldn't get wet.
From the moment I walked in, this kind of customer service you can’t teach, you just are. The food? Baby, listen it was hot, fresh, and delicious. You could taste the care in every bite, like someone’s abuela was in the back stirring pots with love and legacy.Now the cake? Mmhm, I’ll admit it gave luxury pricing, but it also gave luxury taste. Worth it. A sweet splurge to seal the deal.
But here’s what makes Zucchini my spot the love in the service. It’s the little things, the eye contact, the patience, care, the opinions shared with kindness, and the feeling like you're home, even if just for a meal. So to Jimmy James, Bella the Beautiful, and Roger thank you. You turned an ordinary day into something memorable. I ordered the Toona Salad, and while the flavor was great, the portion was underwhelming—just a small handful of mixed greens for $20. As someone who makes plant-based food from scratch, I know these ingredients aren’t costly, so I was honestly shocked at the price. I get that everything is made from scratch, but is the goal to support a healthier lifestyle or just maximize profit? Some of these vegan restaurants are starting to overcharge like they’re fine dining establishments. Let’s be real—wake up.

Food is good but the customer service isn’t. They never answer their phone. The hours are not what they appear to be on Google. They close at 5pm not 6 pm. Prices are eh, one time I got a cookie and meal…it was a “fish” sandwich with a side of Mac salad. My total was $30. What you expect when dining out for vegan food.

I am so happy I found this hidden gem. The food was delicious. I will definitely be back. I ordered the brick city buff and the zucchini pancakes with hash and it was soooo good. The prices may be a bit of a concern for some (for the brick city buff zucchini pancakes with hash and a slice of chocolate cake was $56), but we live in a country where it’s cheap to eat poorly and expensive to eat healthy so either pay to eat clean now or you’ll be paying for it in medical bills later.

I called this place early morning and the guy whom picked up the phone was very rude. First thing he said was phone have been ringing all day and when I was about to speak he said rudely, I have someone on the other line, wow very unprofessional and to think I was going to drive 4 hours away. I am disappointed

You’ll get to know everyone by name. The food is amazing and very high in positivity! I never knew that was an ingredient I wanted in my food until the “The Zucchini Bar”

Let me just start by saying how fortunate I am to have heard about this restaurant. I arrived 10 minutes before closing with a roaring tummy from the work day stress and lack of fuel, Chef King is the ?. He was able to provide me the most flavorful mushroom gyro and pasta salad. He was humbled, and inviting despite me interrupting his closing process. Not to mention EVERYTHING IS 100% VEGAN. I don't know which one I preferred more the pasta or the gyro but I'm still licking my lips as I write this review. I cannot wait to go visit again.

They literally never have anything ready, at all. Also, no menu or website. I wanted so badly to support this place, as an alkaline began. But it might as well be out of someone's home. It seem mismismanaged The workers seemed nice but doesn't make up for the lack of professionalism. Nice zucchini cakes, which I think they don't make anymore, and the coffee was good.
