Bubble tea was great- good options and also love that there is highlights of the best sellers on the menu! And the riceballs are fire!! They make it on the spot and since I was torn between couple of options- the lady at the cashier recommended the fried pork one and it so so yummy and fresh and her recommendation is why am writing this review!! So good 😀
I am absolutely in love with how they remodeled the place I love the vibe I took my daughter for lunch an to see my other daughter who works their and felt the energy while sitting for my order! Yaya Keep up the good vibes and what you do the food is great I highly recommend the pork dumplings (forgot the name to them but there good).
If you haven’t been there to YAYA go now! You won’t be disappointed!
Been a day-1 customer. It’s a brightly colored small boba shop with food options like takoyaki and different flavored rice balls. I prefer milk teas so that’s usually my go-to but the other fruit drinks are pretty good too. It’ll come down to personal preference. Love the creativity for their drinks and names. Staff has always been friendly, helpful & fast. The only other one I’ve been to is in NY but it’s nice to have one of great quality close to home!
Delicious 😋
The rice balls here and milk teas are tasty but they use so much single use plastic so I don’t like coming here. This is not a good place if you get upset by companies using single use plastic FYI. There are so many compostable alternative available nowadays so it is especially frustrating. They also do not offer any reusable dining options (eg if you are eating or drinking there). I expect for the cost of the items that they would have some reusable or at the very least compostable options. It shows how much their leadership doesn’t care about polluting the environment. Ironic really because probably the garbage they produce will be incinerated in & pollute Newark, where their customers are. Really a shame. They just renovated too and included all these ugly plastic artificial flowers on their wall, showing how much plastic they use in their business. Plus I see Yaya garbage in lots of places around campus around the place. Not impressed with this business overall.
I'm obsessed with Thai boba, and Yaya's did not disappoint. The boba was soft and sweet, and the tea had that perfect kick. 9/10 for sure and I'm pulling up this Friday because why not it is so tasty.
I've never had a made-to-order rice ball before. Phenomenal. Quality staff too.
Oh man their seasonal pork floss rice can cake is the best! I hope they keep it all year round!
They catered at Castlepoint Anime Convention and their chicken onigri is delicious! Also props to them for serving in the cold and rain✨️
Their onigiris are the best! I love how many different types there are and ingredients are fresh. Their bubble tea is okay. Needs more boba though!

I love tea from YAYA Tea, It's just right 👍
- Chicken riceball good
- Food is extremely good, could be a little more spicy
- Takoyaki, pork belly good. Dynamic flavor combinations. Love the snacks, a bit on the pricier side however.
- Hokkaido milk tea was ethereal. Not a fan of boba drinks but this was amazing!!
The Yays tea
I tried giving this place another chance. But the tea is consistently watered down. And the boba, crunchy.
this was my go-to back when i was in college nearby. i liked their onigiri and the boba was not bad and one of the few options available near me.
