If I can give a negative 5 stars I would. Did not give me a 16 piece. It was a 12 and mixed with crispy and regular. Ordered online and order did not get started until I was there. So had to wait another half hour. Manager made my order and still got it wrong.
Place looked a mess and honestly didn’t even want to eat the food because I started reading the reviews and seen that the place looked just like the photos.

Chicken was dried, hard, and some was uncooked! Looks like they cook it way ahead and let it sit until it’s needed.

Didn’t get good vibes from the employees or the manager. He seemed like he wasn’t happy and really don’t give a crap. This place went down hill since the last time we ate hear which was at least two years ago. Never again!

AWFUL... THIS LOCATION SUCKS.... DALES-BRANCHVILLE NJ…EVERY TIME YOU GO IN THIS PLACE AFTER 5:10 THEY ARE OUT OF CHICKEN. WE ASKED FOR CHRISPY THEY HAD NONE. How do you have no chicken when people are coming home for dinner and this is prime time to pick up meals and this is something you say you pride yourself in .. THEIR PROBLEM IS THE EMPLOYEES START CLEARING DOWN TO EARLY SO THEY CAN WALK OUT @ 8:30 SO THE CUSTOMER SUFFERS.. THIS OWNER NEEDS TO GET HIS STAFF IN CHECK I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS LOCATION IN NEWTON NJ....

Seriously DONT GO HERE. Let them go out of business. Found a BUG in my food. When paying the employee serving me had a big attitude and literally yanked my debit card out of my hand hurting my wrist. I hope they go bankrupt and close.

Any good reviews for this place are very misleading. I don’t understand their perspective unless they were paid to leave a good review to be completely honest…

Chain restaurants by definition should be known commodities; if you're going on Yelp or Google to figure out whether or not to go into a McDonald's, that's...concerning. But I thought I owed it to society to break my cardinal rule about not reviewing chain restaurants to discuss this mystifying lunch I had last Saturday. I've had this KFC location on my radar for a while; it's located a few minutes away from one of my top-tier chums in the Kingdom of Sussex and has some astonishingly bad reviews - so bad, you wonder why the powers that be haven't just shut it down. I was intrigued though, and my #1 Honorary Young Pup Chum had wanted to go to a KFC for months, so off we went.

Despite the updated outside signage, the actual interior of KFC doesn't look to have experienced any noticeable upgrades in years, if not decades. You can see from my attached picture that the table next to us had significant chipping on the sides of it, and my poor Honorary Young Pup Chum was dinged up a little by her seat, which had a splinter or chip in it as well. It's honestly pretty depressing - if the restaurant you're going into hasn't been able to replace a busted-up table since the Clinton administration, why would your expectations for the food not be basement level? Where is the money going? As far as I can tell, it went to the not one, not two, but THREE air fresheners in the bathroom (attached), two of which were on one hand dryer. I don't even want to know the back story that prompted that decision, but I assume it didn't involve pleasant smells.

The gentleman at the counter was friendly and the food came out within two minutes. Unfortunately, everything else was pretty unpleasant. I ordered the three-piece chicken tender combo, which came with a biscuit and an extra side. I asked for an additional biscuit as my side, and BBQ sauce to accompany the chicken. They whiffed on both. I ended up with fries instead of the second biscuit, and they were out of BBQ sauce. Just pause for a minute to think about that - a chicken-centric establishment was out of one of the most mainstream condiments associated with it at the beginning of lunchtime on a Saturday. The extra side mistake is also pretty mystifying, given that it occurred literally within a minute of receiving my order. That means the guy just flat out didn't put my order in correctly, or forgot within seconds. Not great either way.

The food that WAS provided to me was very mediocre. The chicken tenders weren't crispy at all, and the bottoms each had a soggy patch where you could literally just wipe off the skin to expose the meat below. They were at least decently sized compared to the Honorary Young Pup Chum's chicken nuggets, which required the assistance of a magnifying glass to locate. You know what they looked like? The now-extinct popcorn chicken that was inexplicably removed from their menu a few years ago. Maybe the obvious solution there is to just put those back on the menu and rebrand the miniscule hunks of poultry she received. It would be pretty hard to make those soggy too. The biscuits were okay - my fast food gold standard is Roy Rogers (RIP), so these were never in my wheelhouse, but the worst of them always had too much flour and were gritty. These were chewy and not the worst. My top-tier chum got a side of mac and cheese, which we all sampled. It was literally tasteless, so tasteless that somehow I thought my tongue was broken and just didn't pick up the flavor the first time so I gave it a second try. Nope. It was like if pasta were air. Fascinating.

There are a lot of problems with this KFC. I don't know how much this specific franchise location was affected by COVID and the massive service issues that were left in its wake, but it's pretty clear that any money coming in isn't going to basic upkeep or to management training. Chicken should be crispy, mac and cheese should taste like something, an

3rd time I asked for crispy and got original. I asked for 3 pieces breast and wing received thighs instead. I will never go to kfc again in Newton. Can't get order correct I can't see why I would have to check my order before I leave. Get someone who can read.

First two photos were from an anonymous worker during 2018 era.
A manger allowed the chicken trays from the oven. The same trays that are used to serve customers were sitting on the table with Raw chicken prep. Here is actual photo proof.
Its happened many times who knows what else goes on behind closed doors.
