As someone that's worked in food service for all my working life I hardly waste food no matter how bad it is, however the food I had here was definitely some of the most disappointing I've had in a long time. The rice and refried beans lack flavor and tasted prepackaged. The chicken and beef had a weird flavor almost like the cook was blindfolded and told to imitate Mexican cuisine without any experience with it. The nachos were neatly arranged however they were cold and a bit soggy, probably the most edible part of the meal. Two combos and steak nachos costed 47 and change, probably the worst 47 dollars I've spent in my life. If you love Mexican cuisine and flavor and actual authenticity mean something to you this place is not the way to go.

This is great if you wanted to try something that should be immediately thrown out. The portion size was dismal, the rice tasted like it came from an instant box, and even the mole was off. The only thing from our order that was even edible was the nachos and even those were cold and soggy. Don't waste your money or your time here.

horrible soup. basically mote water with pernil. awful
A longtime staple for authentic Mexican cuisine, this spot has kept me coming back for over 25 years—and they’re still going strong. That kind of longevity speaks volumes. The food remains consistently flavorful, fresh, and true to its roots. A reliable restaurant for anyone craving the real deal.

The food is not good unfortunately, they give you the tacos only with the meat and that's it, no type of sauce or pico de gallo, sour cream, tough meat, the grilled meats are only pure charcoal (it did come out well grilled hahahaha) They should make the meats more juicy, with flavor, not be stingy with what they sell, improve the drinks... Anyway, I don't recommend it!

Please note this review is only based on the food, which was delivered via Uber Eats. The delivery was quick and efficient. The presentation of the food and the portions were solid. The Enchiladas Suizas, Steak and Chicken Quesadillas, and the Tacos Tejanos all looked vibrant and fresh. Food was served in these Styrofoam trays and aluminum bowls. On one side, food was fortunate to not be a mess after delivery, however the food was still lukewarm. My one concern over the food personally was the rice. The yellow rice tasted stale, so either absorbed the Styrofoam material or it wasn't cooked the same day. Refried beans were ok. The tacos were cooked very well. Ground beef was seasoned well and the taco shells were crispy. Steak quesadilla was grilled very well, and the guacamole and sour cream added an extra layer of freshness. Overall, the food is solid. I'm a little concerned though that the order did NOT include a side of chips. For an authentic Mexican-Spanish restaurant, this should be second nature. I'm sure if I was eating in that would have been served without hesitation. I have no doubt I'll order again in the future, but the prices of Puerto Vallarta are a tad bit steep. Certain items are just priced too high. For items to have a high price, the flavor needs to be out of this world. Flavor is good, but not at their prices. There is room for improvement, no question but Puerto Vallarta does care.
