This place is really really cool. Great decor.

The girl that handles the orders at the front one I went in amazing a really hard worker blown away by her service

The sandwiches are delicious but nothing out of This world I did have a specialty sandwich with a guava mustard, but I don’t know if they put that in there because he did not taste any different than the regular Cuban sandwich . They were absolutely delicious. Either way, and I am Cuban lol

I decided to give this Cuban bakery a second try because the food is decent, but once again, the customer service left me really disappointed.

I ordered food and coffee, and they completely forgot the coffee. What made it more frustrating is that the person who helped me only spoke Spanish — which is totally fine because I speak Spanish too, so there should have been no confusion. Still, my coffee was never prepared, and there was no apology, no acknowledgment, nothing. It felt like my order just wasn’t taken seriously.

When you go to a local spot, especially one that should pride itself on hospitality, you expect a basic level of attention and care. That was not my experience. I left feeling dismissed and frustrated.

The food is okay, but the lack of accountability and poor service makes it hard to want to come back. I hope they work on customer service — it’s just as important as what’s coming out of the kitchen.

Great vibes, great service, fun people. Got the oxtail grilled cheese, an empanada, and a coquito latte. The grilled cheese was pretty good but a bit on the saltier side. The guava empanadas I would buy over and over again as well as the drink.
Thanks guys!

Wanted quick food so we stopped by. Had to pick the classic Cuban sandwich, it was a lot and very tasty. They had a variety of small bites from guava and cream cheese empanada to bacon egg and cheese empanada. Countless natural fruit drinks to pick from. Two-seater tables and bar table seating. Parking is available in the municipal parking lot and off-street meter parking. Would recommend!

For the foodies out there-get to Nutley, NJ and have your life changed. Grew up in Tampa where there is a significant Cuban presence. There are institutions, like the Columbia Restaurant in Ybor City, established in 1905. They pride themselves on the best Cuban sandwich. I would bet on Cubita’s Cuban Sandwich any day. The ratio is key-meat/cheese/pickle to the pressed Cuban bread. Cubita nails it. Your palate gets the immediate flavor of the perfectly toasted buttery bread, followed by a perfect amount of homemade mojo flavor and then the traditional combination comes together to please as the entire sandwich just overwhelms every tastebud. Even the diagonal cut-nearly corner to corner is just right. The Cuban Sandwich is thought by many to be the best sandwich ever invented and for those lucky enough to be able to enjoy Cubita’s version, you are definitely experiencing the very best I’ve had. Great job Cubita team! The empanadas and cafe con leche are amazing as well-truly you can’t go wrong with anything. Make sure to thank the team-they genuinely care deeply for everything coming from their kitchen. Please ENJOY!

Terrible service and atmosphere and food is average at best. The wait time was more than 30 mins for couples of coffees and empanadas.

Cubita Café is an absolute gem in Nutley! From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with warmth, great vibes, and the aroma of something amazing cooking in the back. Their award-winning empanadas live up to the hype—my personal favorite is the Oxtail Mac (seriously, it’s life-changing, make your inner child smile 😊). Rich, flavorful, and perfectly crispy on the outside.

The Ropa Vieja is another standout—tender, savory, and packed with authentic Cuban flavor. You can tell everything is made with love and real attention to detail. Whether you’re grabbing a quick bite or sitting down for a full meal, Cubita Café delivers every time. Can’t recommend it enough!

Love this place. As a small business owner myself, its easy to tell the owner knows quality. From the hip hop vibes to the amazing food. My favorite is the coconut shrimp empandas! But my family loves them all. I also sweat the shrimp platter. Quality quality quality!!!! You cant get a better empanda anywhere in NY, PA, or NJ.
Love this spot so much!!

Been wanting to go to this spot for a min. Finally went today. The place was cool. Really liked the biggie on the wall. Music was dope. We loved the Pan con Bistec it was perfect and wasn’t heavy. I also had a couple of empanadas and a papa rellena. Loved it and will go back. Now I wanna open a Cuban spot.

They made my Cuban sandwich the way I like it. But the Croquetas and the papa rellena was ok. I didn't like the Panko bread crumbs used for the breading. Also the beschamel for the Croquetas could have been better in my opinion. Service was excellent. The lady taking your order was very nice.
