Was out on a ride through Nutley and decided to look for something to eat. Did a quick search of stuff nearby and saw there was Filipino food nearby—ended up at Five Chris Catering. It checked all my boxes: local, affordable, and packed with flavor. That’s my sweet spot, and this place nailed it.

They’ve got a $12 dine-in buffet with a great variety. I tried a noodle dish, a ground meat dish, pork adobo, a couple of things I can’t remember how to spell, and some bopis, which had one of the richest, brothiest flavors I’ve ever tasted. Everything hit just right. Definitely worth stopping in if you’re riding through the area.

Food not to fresh.... not a lot of space for dine in. Portions are small. Will not go back!

I’m so disappointed. I’m from Queens, New York, and my family has been ordering from Five Chris for over 20 years — even before my kids were born. We used to order from them for every party and I recommended them to so many friends in Queens because the food was always great.

Unfortunately, the quality has gone way down. Last year, the palabok and dinuguan we ordered smelled off and tasted like they were made days before. We gave them another chance this past weekend and ordered lechon — for $395, it was dry, the meat was hard, and not worth the price at all. The only thing we enjoyed was the banana turon.

To all my fellow New Yorkers: there are so many better and fresher Filipino food options right here in Queens. Sadly, Five Chris is no longer worth the drive.

Needs new management and owners. The kitchen in the back room is not clean. Do not eat here.

The worst pilipino restaurant in new jersey. The food are not good and the cashier overpriced for what we ate. Is it she notice that we are not from that area that's why? or is it their normal way of cheating customers. 1 small crispy Pata that is chewy and no taste at all, 2 cup rice 2 can soda, 1 small Chinese container dinuguan for $41.80. You'll be the judge if not too overpriced. If you're not from this area I'm highly not recomend this restaurant. Better go to a clean restaurant and with a customer restroom.

My go to Filipino food place in Nutley-Belleville area. Fried chicken is the bomb! But if you buy a pancit tray they don’t have much “sahog”

Good try: Turon, pancit, spring roll
Skeptical about their buffet. Lots of leftover when I went to get turon in the afternoon.
Looks oily & not fresh. I wonder what they do with the leftovers?
I suggest they need to drop the price into half after lunch time so it won’t get spoiled or to avoid serving them the next day.

I’ve been coming here since I was a kid. The quality taste and service is always amazing. If you’re looking for a nice cheap and quick Filipino meal come here! The buffet was 11.99 for a bunch of different choices. Will be back again !

ALL his Filipino food id delicious and his prices are so cheap. I just can't believe how much great delicious food he gives away. For example, a combo is white rice with 2 sides of meat dishes that ge has at the buffet, only $7.50 now. It just went up 50 cents from $7 a couple months ago and that's still a steal. I love this spot.
